Be a decent signing for them. Good championship keeper and top professional.

Had hoped we would be in for him but suppose he may want too high a wage or championship football, plus we seem to be slashing wages/selling rather than bringing anyone in.

Bloke had a bad season. Had a couple of very good ones before.

Surprised if he's hawking around for a club. I Would have thought he would have got a club by now. I Hope his agent isn't playing the best offer game and it backfires. Look what happened to Barnard.

If we had approached like Steele when he was looking for a club in England last season I don't have any shred of doubt that we would now be a championship club

Give him a break. He lost form and confidence last season but before that he was a very good keeper for us.

He/Steele was ace for us (some years ago now), and I hope he will suck for that despicable '1st season wonder' Blunts club. And I see fatboy sport Billy is unwanted now and is on his way out. What a shame eh, and fingers crossed they have the same kind of crappy luck we had in our 2nd season at that level.

Just my opinion his basic errors outweigh the wonder saves over three seasons

Luke Steele what a guy. One of the best debuts in history for Barnsley against Liverpool, at Anfield no less.

I agree with you Supertyke regarding Steele.

In relation to Davies, I was very critical last season and felt he should have been dropped long before he was, however, that has gone now and we have to get behind him ahead of the new season. It looks like Davies will be given first opportunity in goal so he needs to make the most of it!
One thing I note with interest, the goalkeeping coach John Vaughan is still here. Hecky must not have rated him that highly as he seemed to take all the backroom staff barring him. Perhaps Stendel had no say but I wouldn't have been against us bringing in a new goalkeeping coach to freshen things up.

Best debut in the history of our club for me. He wasn't right good for Brizzle in the few games he did play for them. Would do a job at league one level, but we couldn't have him and Davies on the same payroll.
