Mallan & McCarthy... 2 good deals IMHO

    and with rumours of more to come too. The lads on the retained list are good too. Also some of our more promising youngsters signing Pro contracts too. Another 4 or 5 permanent signings and then the 5 loanees allowed and we are gonna be OK I think....I for one am happy with the proceedings at Oakwell so far. I am hopeful of a decent season again in the championship.

    I agree they're positive signings, but we definitely need at least five more of a similar quality, followed up by some useful loan signings.

    Yep - Hecky said 12 I think.
    So we need another 10 ish.
    And then when all the wheeling and dealing is done .................Hecky and his backroom staff have to forge a team that avoids relegation.
    An extremely difficult task.
    But in Hecky we trust !!!

    I'm not sure we need 13. We've got a decent sized squad already. Just a lot of unproven players.

    We're very short up front with really only Bradhaw in a central striker position. Whether Payne or one of the young lads can challenge there, we'll see. But i'd expect at least 2 strikers to come in. We've only 2 fullbacks in Yiadom and McCarthy, so i'd expect 2 more in those positions. 2 wingers to supplement Hammill and Hedges as Lee didnt seem to feature much at all last year and central midfield i'd expect 2 more.

    That's, what, 8. Obviously if we lost Yiadom, McDonald or Roberts, we'd have to replace, but if not I think we're ok at centre half and hopefully we get Kpekawa back into the mix.

    Im probably missing someone off that list, just grabbed it based on the retained list. However, looking at that im not sure we need the 10-12 some are saying. 1-2 defenders, 1-2 midfielders and 2-3 strikers seems good enough to me. Add 2-3 loans along with some of the youngsters we have and I think thats just about good to go.

    Really dont think we should be bringing in 10-12 for the sake of it. 7-8 signings similar to Mallam and McCarthy and I think we're good. Looking at the above, 2 quality strikers has to be our number one place to start.

    till we have a bad start and you are whining like mad. With the number of personnel coming in this season I woudl be amazed if we started well. I would say look more to the first season with Wilson and we will get better and better. Conor was very hit and miss for the first season. I remember him getting booed off in some games. Lucky for us his head didn't drop.

    Need 3 strikers, 1/2 full backs (depending on Kpekawa), 1/2 CMs (depending on Sessi) and 2 wingers. Maybe more if we sell Roberts

    still early days. Hecky knows what he wants and i'm pretty sure he's let his feelings known on how the club have let the talent walk away from the club. The 3 year contract for McCarthy is a start over the normal 2 year one which leaves us wide open if he does well in his first season.

    Last time we went on a big contact was 5 years for Digger and look how that turned out. Bit of a knee jerk reaction from the don if i remember right.

    And certainly more than half c/midfielder!
    Although I like your idea... it would 1/2 the wage bill
