Popular player is Mamadou and scored some spectacular goals last season. However fitness seems to have always been an issue with him. He looks tired and heavy legged by half time. I hope he shows the form and potential we expected when he first signed . But he has been with us a couple of years now and it's not fully materialised. Come on Mama , time to do the business.

I hope he really can make an impact for us back in the championship, he is my lads favourite player. But personally I think he is going to struggle to tie down a place in the team and might be moved on.

I think he’s better than most of us appear to appreciate.
A YouTube compilation video of just his Barnsley highlights would make him look like a multi million pound player.
The apparent lack of fitness and uninterested tags are way off the mark in my opinion.

Think he will be off. Two years where he's not particularly pushed on, looks to be further down the pecking order with new signings and the last year of his contract.

However if his contract expires next summer he may well be moving as have Pinnock, Lindsay and Davies.

I thought his fitness improved immeasurably from the season before last to last season. But he's built like a sprinter so he's always going to find 90 minutes difficult. He's about strength and speed and power, not long distance. However, he's not blowing out of his arse after 5 minutes like Moncur. He could give a good 70 minutes last season before tiring.

I don't know if he'll make an impact in the championship or not. I don't know where he is in the pecking order for a first team start. I do think he deserves a chance in the championship though, after some of his performances last season. I hope he gets a chance rather than us just sell him. I've no idea if the new recruits will be better than him or not. Like most, I haven't seen all that much of them.

I imagine we'll be rotating a lot more next season because it's a more demanding schedule and we also now have more options. Reckon Thiam, Wilks, Brown and Thomas will all get plenty of games and I think they all have something slightly different to offer.

I reckon he’ll start against Fulham. A place in the first team is his to lose, and rightly so IMO.

Agree with this in full. I think it’s his place to lose at first. No idea how the new recruits will settle etc. But for me we start with him.

I hope he pushes on this season - but accept that if he does, he’ll probably be sold if a decent bid comes in.

I agree. Disinterested in his demeanour. More importantly i want ti see him regularly driving at defences like chaplin yesterday and Thomas. Nunbers up

Thiam will be one of the many options we have up front this season.

It’s really odd that for the last 12 months plus people have moaned about not having enough options.

As soon as we get a few in the same people then start to say we should start stripping back and letting players leave.

Thiam was a large part of last seasons promotion, I thought he had a far better season than the previous and will play a part this season.

To get in the side he’ll have to play well and train hard, if he doesn’t he’ll make way for someone else.

    I’d rather have the options.

    Good player.
    Asset to any side.
And as for the "doesn't drive at the defence", well that really is a load of old spherical globules

But it is, as has been said, purely an opinion.

I'd say largely a bench option, but would like to see him start vs Wednesday & some physical encounters like that, take him off after 60 minutes or so & hit them with pace.

I’m still meh. Half the time it looks like his first ever game. I don’t think he has the quality at Championship level to be a regular starter. Time will of course tell.
