To prevent you having to click it: Diego Maradona has died after suffering a cardiac arrest, according to reports in his native Argentina. The football legend had a heart attack at his home just two weeks after leaving hospital where he underwent surgery on a blot clot in his brain. Maradona, who won the World Cup with Argentina in 1986, was 60. More to follow.
Single handedly won Napoli the league title. It's a shame over here we know him best for being a cheat and his abuse of drugs over the years probably played a role in him dying relatively young.
Probably inevitable after his years of coke abuse. Not exactly loved on these shores but he was still someone’s dad and grandad - and also an all time great, so it has to be seen as sad.
Enormously talented footballer - I'll say no more, RIP. Changed my mind, spooky in view of the handball thread....
Inevitable due to the amount of cocaine he put in his body. Was a talented footballer no doubt about that, but wasn't a very good human being His attitude at the last World Cup proved that, giving the middle finger
Very sad news. Sorry I never got the opportunity to see him play. Certainly one of the greatest footballers ever. R.I.P. Diego.
RIP - I unfortunately didn't get to see him play as he retired in 1997 when I was only 3. But he will certainly be forever remembered as one of the best.
On the BBC Sports website. Recovering from surgery for a blood clot on his brain apparently. RIP DM. Diego Maradona: Argentina legend dies aged 60 https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54810392
