The left are the least tolerant and very bitter and twisted and are becoming worse , father , cousins , uncles and some of my good mates were all miners , up to and including in the strike , we were all Labour then, how times have changed along with views and party views

I suppose being nasty about people's opinions is better than supporting a Tory party which is nasty to the disabled and black people. I know which one gets my vote.

In the land of the blind the one eyed man is king. We've had Boris the baffoon making is the laughing stock of the world stage for the last 2 years, and the mentally challenged David Davis in charge of the most complex trade and legal negotiations in the history of the country.

Yep Brodsworth main 1979 till 1987 so don’t try and lecture me about socialist values etc . I was an NUM member , went on CND marches etc ( and still a union member now) but unlike the flock it seems I have a mind of my own . I’m not left wing or right wing just a common sense traditionalist ! Couldn’t think of anything worse than a country governed by Jezza and his disciples .

Listen I worked in the coalmines and if any one like you worked there with your right wing views no collier worth his salt would have worked with you remember the 1970's and 80's and what the Tory 's did to our industry, and the strikes we fought for a livng wage and to keep our job's and the strikes we had on behalf of the Nurse's, mi sen I fought them in 1970 , 1972 and 1984 only thing I can come up with you is that you was a scab if you did work in the pit's, you talk like a scab and act like a scab, you have tried to pull me down before in other posts I put that down to my username (the true nick name of Barnsley F.C.) and not what you must think . Nice to see you get the right wingers giving you likes in your reply's to me just proves a point.

Just to be clear I gave him a like but not because his post was right wing or political in any way. I liked that he was an ex miner who didn't conform to any particular brand of politics. I feel the same way as he does right now, I am neither left or right wing, I like policies from both sides. I am saddened that we have a government that is a bit of a shambles and an opposition that is no better. I'm what you would call politically homeless right now.

There seems to be an opinion on here that if you don't agree with certain people it automatically makes you right wing and that simply is not the case.

I also would never judge somebody based on their politics just like I would never judge anybody on their skin colour, religion, sexuality or anything else. I judge them on their personality and how they are as a person. I know some wonderful people on the left and right, just like I know some proper idiots on both the left and the right. Politics does not define a person.

Nay don't come the sob story with me I don't give a toss what anyone's politics are but I can smell a p1 locker a mile away like the guy who's views are right wing and say's he worked in the pit's in the 70's and 80's if he had he would not hold them views after what we went through under a right wing government you your self as stated many a time that you favor the right over the left just look what you have put on your location and I don't think it's a football term, I don't want to fall out with you as I like to read your posts you can call me what you want but be honest

I may be being dumb here but didn't the majority of Barnsley men work in the pits in those times? And aren't there a hell of a lot of Barnsley men of that age with right wing views?

Like he said in an earlier post. Judge people on who they are not who you think they are.
I've always found Mario to be courteous and thoughtful.
I don't always agree with what he says but I'm willing to listen.
Rather that than the knee jerk labelling and antagonism doled out on here by some.
Our politics is screwed because of attitudes like that and if we're not very careful we're going to end up in the same boat as the US where common sense and consensus is ignored in favour of tribalism and hatred.

Yes i would have thought that everyone who worked in the mine's would have been labour through and through at the time. However i see a few ex miner's on social media who have highly prejudiced right-wing views now.
