His move to Norwich hasn't really worked out for either Marley or the Club, although on the back of his infrequent appearances he was called up to the full Wales International squad. A deal has been agreed in principle, that will see him move to Ashton Gate in the close season to ply his trade for Bristol City under Lee Johnsons management. Let's hope it works out for the lad.
It's already worked out for the lad, as he's going to get a signing on fee for the third summer in his last four. He's in danger of becoming a journeyman as he's not one to put down roots long term somewhere. Don't think he's ever stayed somewhere long enough to sign a contract renewel.
Yeah good luck to him . Problem is he isn't good enough. He's neither a winger or a striker but fair play to him he got himself fit and strong and made a good living from being an average footballer.
Him and winnall were our best front 2 for a long long time. Only Conor got more assists last season for us but I think Marley was in double figures and also chipped in with a few goals and always gave 110%. Hardly been given a chance at Norwich but like already said in this thread Marley hasn't stayed around long throughout his career, good enough for this league I'd have him back here tomorrow.
Where would you play him ? . Scores about 1 in 4 so no good as a striker , doesn't cross the ball so no good as a winger . He's an honest league 1 player who's done well for himself financially. Like I said good look to him .
Alot of the time he did the donkey work in league one for winnall to score. Shipperly wasn' prolific for us but he was one of the strikers who worked hard and created space for others and had great link up play. I thought Marley was decent on the wing and his assists stats speak for there self. We will have to agree to disagree but I think he would get on our wing if we was playing 442.
You're right he was decent but no better than that . He probably would get on the right side of our 433 but anyone half decent would, it still doesn't mean he's championship quality .
Quite a puzzling assessment of a player who scored 11 league goals without playing as an out and out striker. I'd drive him back to Oakwell tomorrow.
Marley has a good record in the championship with us he hot 10 goals in 42 games last season I believe. And he wasn't always played as a striker.
When has he proved that ? A season in the Championship with us and not always first choice .He's done nothing this season in a really weak Norwich side.
Marley played in a far better team and was carried . Who would you pick If you was the manager Moore or Watkins ?
