My mates just paid £30 for Saturday, he got a freebie through reds in the community for the Bristol game including one for his young un and he paid a fiver for the Millwall match. £35 for 4 tickets, £8.75 a game
Well my lads home on leave he's based in Cornwall Navy lad he is, anyway he's a big supporter of BFC and he doesn't get home much the last time he was home we played Aston Villa at home so we went down, my lad his brother and me cost a small fortune to see us get tonked (football eh?) So I says give em a bell at the box office see how much it is, he does just that and it's £32 with no concessions for the armed forces. So the upshot of all that is **** EM!!!
Blackburn just announced ticket prices for their last home game of the season v Oxford. No reciprocal deal, a spur of the moment announcement to fill the place to give their final promotion push a boost. Adults £10 Concessions £8 Under-18s £2 Bradford City (no published attendance yet for last night) haven't had a crowd under 18k this season. In League One. With some ***** results and Leeds/Huddersfield on their doorstep. Proof, if it were needed, that a LONG-TERM creative pricing initiative genuinely works. I didn't want our new owners to start spunking money on overpriced/overpaid journeymen, or build big new stands we'd never fill, but some really imaginative and affordable ticketing announcements would have been a great way to win friends, boost crowds and make their mark at the club.
