Because ALL of our games are priced at £30+ now are they?

I wish the club would stop pretending there's a reciprocal system in place because last season the facts didn't match the claim and it all went quiet when people proved it

If one is we should be ashamed. The average will be close to 30. We can go round on this but it’ll get nowhere. You are happy for people to be ripped off. I’m not. Let’s leave it there.

Are you suggesting their ticket prices were cheaper at the start of the season?

Season tickets were. I’m suggesting that they built a fan base by selling cheap tickets and have gradually increased them over time after translating a lot of casual fans into season ticket holders by offering season tickets for 6.50 a game. It may be in 20/30 years they need to decrease again to reinvigorate the fan base.

No. But I don’t expect the club I support to blaze a trail and let our competition have an even bigger advantage.

If they sorted out the ridiculous parachute payments and made the division a fit and level playing field, then clubs could afford to reduce ticket prices.

And as for all of the premier league being cheaper? Don’t make me laugh. Arsenal sell some tickets for £97.

Any away fan can visit the Emirates for 30 quid correct or any of Premiership ground for that matter.

Again Huddersfield blazed a trail how did it work for them...

If we are not part of the solution we are part of the problem if you think it's fine to carry on like this then yes you are happy for people to be ripped off otherwise you would speak out rather than defending the indefensible. 38 quid to visit Oakwell. Ridiculous

You think we have many single match customers when it's £30+? I haven't been to a game all season, because each time I've been able to go, the price has been too high.

    Proved what?

I'll start though. Newcastle last season, which has been referred to already. We set that at CAT A. So £30. They charged us £32.

    £38? Eh?

Hats off to @troff in this thread. Nailed it.

    £25, £25, £25, £30 and £28 so far. Two cup games at £10.

Too much in my opinion. But not £30+.

    Care to explain this YTBFC?

Aston Villa last season. We set that at CAT A. So £30. They charged us £25.

    https://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk/news/2017/february/tickets-aston-villa-away/

Newcastle were charging away fans £27 at the time we set the CAT A price for the home game. We didn't know they were going to charge £32 for their final game of the season at the time.

I'm talking about the two games when I've not been working and able to go. Aston Villa and Middlesbrough.

To nail the end of this thread. Boro tickets were £30 for them (plus about two quid handling fee!) . They sold out (4750 tickets) within two hours of going on general sale this morning. Maybe we should've charged more.

It's £30 for our fans as well. Another game which I'm priced out of.

    £30. When bought in advance.

Villa dropped their prices by the time it came around. Owing to their dismal season I guess.

As I say, the club discusses pricing with each club in the summer and attempts to agree a reciprocal arrangement. It's not a flawless system for numerous reasons because as you point out, not every one matches up. It's why our fans paid £42 at QPR, £12 more than their fans paid. Why we charged Leeds £36 after they charged ours £42 or whatever.

It's all wrong in my opinion. Twenty is plenty has always been my stance.
