I think we've got a brilliant chance of seeing him here all season. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if it was already agreed and was just dependant on him getting through these three months without any scares.

I just think that, because Matty James comes across as a super nice and caring guy, he won't care about money. Of course he will. He certainly won't be made for life as he unfortunately didn't get that one season in the PL to really shine and land a £30k/£40k five year deal.

According to a few google searches he is on 32k a week at Leicester. So no chance we can match that. The only hope is that he loves it here and wants regular minutes but he would need to drop to around 10k for us to get him.

Aaaah, Dangerous Brian. I remember his debut. I thought we had the next Beckenbauer on our hands. Went downhill from there.

He reminds me of Anderson Da Silva - just loads of time on the ball, and really composed

    He’s on £32k a week at Leicester.

For us to have any chance of signing him permanently we’d have to be around 20k a week.

There’s loads of championship clubs who would pay that and more.

Maybe we could make an exception to pay someone 20k a week, but the likelihood of paying it to a player with an horrific injury record is absolutely zero.

Can we prevent a Drinkwater scenario though - if someone wants to buy him from Leicester in January do we have any way to prevent that?

Also smashes our wage structure, and leads to a long line of agents demanding more for their players.

Tell em they can have his wages when they start to control a game like he does.

Depends on the agreement. At present it expires in January so anyone could buy him I guess. At the moment we extend until the end of the season I doubt you'll see him leave.

Whilst I think money will have a huge influence in his next contract, I think he'd probably prefer to play for us the rest of the season and then see where he's at, rather than move on to a new club in January. But this is football. It's a short career and emotion and loyalty rarely play a factor when you're potentially talking about millions of pounds.

The quality and experience we have been missing and his wages will be clawed back tenfold with the younger lads learning off him

I’d rather have him over any of the current Wednesday misfits on show tonight!
