Here they are again doing their best to muck up our season. Barnsley Football Club acknowledge the following charge from The FA, regarding Cameron McGeehan. "Barnsley’s Cameron McGeehan has been charged with violent conduct following an incident in the 54th minute of Saturday’s [2 March 2019] fixture against Southend United that was not seen by the match officials but caught on camera.” The Club has until 18:00 today (Tuesday 5th March) to provide a response.
So let’s get this right is this just because it was on sky because I can’t recall other teams getting pulled up on this week in week out?
Probably cos commentators went on about it for 5 minutes and they showed it about 56 times!! What about there player sending Cavare flying in the first half or there player taking Green clean out in the second half??? My response would be a big fat **** off
It looked pretty ambiguous to me - might have been intended, but more likely not. Certainly didn't look clear enough for punishment and if he gets done after Mings escaped punishment for the stamp on Oliveira then it's an absolute joke.
Really?? Why dont we bloody contest stuff for a change .....like everyone else. So if that hadnt been on sky.........
we have to contest this 100% Ian Hume incident entered my mind as soon as I saw this, the FA did sweet FA about that clear act of violent conduct. Harry Kane nutted someone in the derby on the same day at the same time and nothing has been said about that. If this game wasn't on sky then nothing would've come of it. in my eyes its obvious he hasn't done it on purpose, I am not having that if someone purposely stamps on another player with football boots on there is no way they'll get up and carry on playing.
So if its discussed by the sky panel, then there will be retrospettive diciplinary action? So what about the sourhend studs incident then, thats doing the rounds on multi media! Honest this anoys me. Its like when hammil was sent off at hillsboro for that 50/50 a few years ago....never appealed. The booking that hedges received for diving (it was a clear pen) was that at shrewsbury? etc etc.
The one difference between the Morgan assault was the referee booked him, so therefore saw it and the FA can’t rescind or upgrade a yellow by FIFA/UEFA rules. In this case the referee didn’t see it so they can take retrospective action. I’m not saying that the Morgan rule is a farce but that’s the reason there’s a difference.
Serves you right McGeehan for playing for little ole Barnsley. If you actually meant to do that then you know full well that you can only get away with it with the bigger clubs.
I can think of 3 dangerous tackles by Southend on saturday that should have retrospective action but will not because they are Barnsley Sunderland must be wetting themselves over this another of our first team banned for 3 matches
Just be bloody thankful the ref or linesman didn't see it on the day !!!!! Down to nine men. Who knows what might have happened.
I think people need to take the red tinted specs off. He's looking down, his foot comes down early, the player moves his leg slightly, but more the bottom part, the part McGeehan jumps on doesn't move a great deal. After he's stamped on him, he doesn't apologise or see if the player is ok. When a free kick is awarded he immediately plays innocent and asks if its our way. Which it is. He was fantastically lucky the referee didn't see it and the player didn't make a meal of it. That there were other incidents going on is immaterial, they should be dealt with individually. The stamp is a red card. A ban would be deserved. Jacob was reckless but only wanted to win the ball back after his miscontrol. McGeehan knew exactly what he was doing and lets say if that had been a Sunderland player ahead of our game next week, everyone would be crying it was a red and a ban.
other players have been charged by the FA in the past after being caught out by the TV, with the matchday officials missing it.
