    I totally agree with Jamdrop.

Ask yourself how you would feel if your daughter was touched inappropriately or had to dress provocatively to 'please' the boss if she was to get on at work.
If my daughter was chatted up by a work colleague on the same grade as her I wouldn't be bothered. Were she chatted up by a male boss I would be concerned because he is in a position of power.

Unsurprisingly no one can come up with a justification for any inappropriate touching - however 'mild.'

All power to the #metoo campaign

Everybody is stating the bleeding obvious yet again on this thread.

Do we all need to be told that physical advances, or ones that create discomfort in the other, are unwanted and if repeated forbidden?

I've known that for 50 years.

We need to deal with those that do know too, but nevertheless have a personality defect that has them do these things.

Didn't mean it like that but you're right of course. Sorry if my comments offended other men.

If the #metoo thing helps one frightened person come forward and stop an abuser abusing other people it’s fine by me.

Really gut wrenching story that. Horrible. While ever there are people like Tekkytyke, choosing to read it, ignore it and reaffirm their prehistoric views things won't change sadly.

"Fit in or **** off" that sounds very accepting to me. Anyone that has a different way of living to you should not be allowed? You are truly a beacon of acceptance.

Words fail me. If you follow the thread I DID NOT ignore the post and replied making observations that times have changed for the better and what Jam Drop described was the very definition of sexual harassment. I do not in any way condone what Jam Drop experienced and many women have had to, and continue to endure. The comments about the 70's were observations of attitudes at the time and I was neither defending them or condoning them. Times and and attitudes have changed.
The whole point was that the danger is, as other people have pointed out, the pendulum is swinging too far the other way and trial by social media, which is happening, is very dangerous.
Can I ask you how you would feel if a female work colleague or subordinate went to her manager and accused you of, some time in the past, sexually harassing her or making lewd comments? How would you feel if they posted on social media that you were a sexual predator, and you were then suspended, pointed out and ostracised by your workmates etc. knowing you were innocent. Not every accused is guilty but they are all being treated the same way. Mud sticks.
How old are you? Do you know anything about the McCarthy witch hunts the 1950's? I think your studies of English at school must have been lacking since comprehension seems to be beyond your capabilities. Try reading the comments with an open mind and then come back to me and tell me where my views are "Prehistoric". Jeez!

I’ve never done anything that could be construed as sexual assault, shows your neanderthal mentality that you assume everyone has.

It is correct that not every accused is guilty, however the necessary and justified "me too" movement aims to rectify a long standing spiral of victim shaming, as evidenced by Jamdrop's own account of suffering the sort of treatment many women deal with every single day. Turning that around and making out men are the victims because they may be wrongly accused shows your lack of empathy. If you want a crystal clear example of how the victim is still treated with a total lack of respect and trust look at the Stanford Rape Case. White men can get away with just about whatever they want and it scares people like you that their influence is at long last being questioned.

Regarding your tedious, condescending last paragraph there are absolutely no parallels to McCarthyism, that's just a Breitbart buzzword your sort love to repeat in the illusion it makes you sound erudite. No, I clearly never learned to read or write. Are you not due another laboured, half thought out football post to maintain the illusion you know this is a Barnsley FC Football Forum yet?

Clearly you have issues since you reduce debate to personal mud-slinging. Try looking up the word hypothetical; and then tell me where I assume you have sexually assaulted someone. Anyway I have no need to be condescending as you appear to think you are rational and logical but are incapable of entering into a rational debate without insulting people or misconstruing/misintepreting the posts made.
Tell me exactly what you mean by people like me. You still have not provided and example of neanderthal thinking.

Finally, can you REALLY not see any similarities between Hollywood stars losing jobs being blacklisted for alleged communist sympathies and being 'outed' in the 1950's (many of who were innocent) and the current situation where people are being blacklisted before any legal or civil action has been undertaken? Really? Then for all your attempts at moral high ground you must be pretty stupid not to see any. "Turning it around and making men the victims". My God !! Where have I said that? Are you saying that every one accused is guilty ?
