Wouldn’t like to see Pearson in midfield against Villa. Potts, Moncur and Mallan.

Is there only me who shudders at the thought of Pearson playing centre midfield at Championship level?

Might do a decent job at stopping the opposition, can't say I have great confidence in his ability to retain possession though.

No its not just you. Think he's best left as back up center back as he worried me at full back too

I think Mallan is shaping up to be a great tackler....IMHO Potts wins a lot of ball despite the hammer he gets on here....can't disagree about Moncur.

Moncur is just not a toiler. I like Potts, but he's more of an offensive player. He does put in some running. Mallon looks OK, but I don't think he'll be running box to box for 90 minutes. I expect we'll lose by 3 goals. As others have said the season won't be decided in one game. We'll have Gardner back the following week & Williams the week after. Would be nice if we got an experienced holding midfielder in before the weekend though.
