Seems we missed a trick last season by having a decent first half of the season. Millwall got January out of the way without losing their best players and are now flying. Smaller budget and gates than us, but doing far, far better, and with an old boy up front.
Clever tactic, starting awfully then panning everyone. They'd not even won an away game until January, now on the way to winning their 7th in a row. And I honestly don't fancy any of their players much. Just shows what teamwork and a decent manager can do.
I think with Millwall it’s more a case of the tactics and how they play as opposed to standout players but it certainly works for them. At the start of the season I had Millwall as one of the teams who I was sure were going to struggle and we could get above. Shows how much I know I suppose.
I think it's down to keeping the side together. As you both say, not many players that you would have heard of and they hardly brought momentum into this season, but they've stuck together and done really well. I've been to all 3 games with them this season and they were very poor in the league game at theirs. Much improved in the other two though.
It would be a sad day if Millwall got promoted, their scum bag fans going to West ham Chelsea etc then giving their board the premier league money then parachute payments it's just wrong.
Momentum after promotion.... look at us, then Sheff U, now Millwall. Winning becomes a habit, as does losing.
Amazing that the last two sides we've beat in a play off final are better off than us and left us behind.
That's my point though. They didn't really carry any. They struggled for the first half of this season, particularly away from home. It's as if they've had our last season in reverse.
