I only took the strikers who have scored a significant number of goals

Two of the top 5, can't ask for more than that. We have goals all over the field though this season which makes it even more impressive.

I think our front players and 2 regular midfielders are very prolific to decent... but when you look through the defence, we've hardly scored any goals there at all (on a league basis). When you think of some of our marauding fullbacks, we've only got 1 goal from Cavare, none from our left backs and only 1 goal from Pinnock so far.

I think back to when I first started watching and we've often had a centre half who could get a decent goal tally, whether a Shotton, Smith or Taggart. Would really help us in tight games if we could chip in with a few more goals from our defenders at set pieces.

Mawson got 6 or 7 in 15/16. Roberts chipped in too.

Precisely. Hourihanes fantastic delivery contributed to plenty of set piece goals. Just increases the stark contrast between past centre halves and our current ones. Though I'm not blaming them, they don't generally seem to get that many chances as past centre halves did.

The centre backs need to start chipping in with a few goals.
