I feel so sorry for the new board and Jose Morrais who are going to carry the can when we are relegated for mainly the failings of the previous regime and also partially Paul Heckingbottom. I'm not going to talk about the previous owners has that has been covered numerous times but Hecky is a guy who people couldn't stop praising (myself included initially). However, as time went on the way some people went on and on about him and hung on his every word was quite simply embarrassing. I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and stated he should be allowed the start of next season to see what he could do (if we were relegated) but it was clear this season he wanted out and when Leeds came calling off he went. The last 6-8 months of his tenure he whined, moaned and bitched (a fair bit of it justified) about anything and everything to deflect attention away from his own shortcomings rather than just getting his head down and cracking on with the job. What did he finish with, 1 win in 17? The appointment of Jamie Clapham as assistant head coach was a poor one and I was shot down for saying so at the time. I don't think he's had much success where ever he's been in a coaching capacity. I now see Hecky's carried on that negative mentality at Leeds and if keeps on going he probably won't see out the season, a number of Leeds fans want him out already. So in comes Jose, a guy I can't say I'd heard off before and those very same people who said Hecky should be afforded plenty of time he's 'one of our own' etc have now turned on the new head coach already and want him out. Why? We would more than likely have still been in the same position had Hecky stayed and I can guarantee none of you would have turned on him. The only element I didn't agree with was the length of contract given to Jose, it should have been until the end of the season but maybe there is a break/get out clause at sesson end for both parties to review...

Yep. The damage was done in pre season when we brought in a load League 1 players. I never thought that after that Birmingham home game that over four months on, we still hadn't won a home game.

This side we have now with replacements for the lads that'll obviously leave will get top six next season in the division below, I'm confident but again, are we gonna recruit the same the next time we get into this league?

By the way, I think we'll stay up.

Difficult to feel sorry for billionaires who have the ready made solution available to them, should they please.

There is no ready made solution now given the window is closed.

If they had spent millions in Jan no doubts you’d have been on here whittling about financial security

The damage was done, in my opinion, in the pre season training camp where Hecky lost his head with all the new players and started telling them they weren’t good enough.

Imagine that mentality. “You are not good enough and you’re not following my match winning tactics. Now listen, and kick the ball from centre half up to our 5 foot 6 target man. SIMPLE!”

I understand the window is closed but I believe the players are good enough, they have not been helped by managers changing the team every game, there is however a definite lack of experience in the team and also at the moment a poor shape about the team, which is the responsibility of the manager. This was highlighted yesterday at the two goals ,at the turnover of possession from our own players unfortunately ,the first goal the back four were very wide and at the second goal too many players are wrong side of the ball ,in our position we must make sure we defend well as a team and use the players at our disposal better which means a good shape and playing the players in there recognised positions .I certainly don't see a likeness in our managers style and that of The special one at Man U his players are always right side of the ball by that I mean a good defensive shape. With the strikers we now have in the squad a good shape is most definitely achievable

Thank you for your constructive reply.

I’m really not sure that the players are good enough to be honest. At least not often enough.

Agree re lack of experience which barring Hammill is more a failing of the clubs recruitment policy than any of the two managers we’ve had this season

Yes I totally agree with you regarding the recruitment policy, unfortunately I think the board were forced into a rush job in appointing the new manager ,whom I hope finds his feet quickly and manages to keep us up. The fact it is a young squad they will need more from the manager and coaching staff than would normally be the case especially in the championship

It's not about being right or wrong in the managers job it's about man management skills

Especially as they are responsible for Morais. He's got to have had one of the worse starts of anybody we've ever had.

I would have a 34 year old Hume instead of Thiam. Both cost £1M.

To be fair I’d have an early 50s David Currie over Thiam.
