All of whom got the sack and, between them, got us relegated.

Sorry, we didn't sack Robins, we put him on garden leave and suspended him from the club before agreeing a termination of his contract.

Which conveniently takes us away from the point that the 5 managers who wouldn't play Hassell hardly set the world alight with their purchases and football style did they?

Apart from Keith hill who managed a side who I believe finished above us and David Flitcroft who managed a side to promotion and Danny Wilson who managed our club to its only promotion to yhe premiereship or simon Davey who took us to our first fa cup semi final since we won it

    Youre right

Okay, you've got me there. I'll concede that Hill didn't pick Hassell for Rochdale last season and that Flicker managed to get Bury promoted without using Hassell once. Wilson, for some reason, chose to use Nicky Eaden in the promotion season, rather than Hassell. But, hey, the one example you gave of a manager's success whilst at Barnsley during Hassell's reign was Davey's Cup run. Check the line ups for the Liverpool and Chelsea games and someone sticks out like a ginger sore thumb.

Hassell was at right back when we beat Liverpool at Anfield. The reason he played in midfield was due to the long term knee injury picked up by Anderson de Silva and the manager's decision not to select the more experienced midfield pair of Andy Johnson & Sam Togwell. Had de Silva not been injured, it's highly unlikely Hassell would've been moved from full back.

Goals are goals no matter how they are scored. Ruud Van Nistelrooy scored 150 goals for Manchester United and not one was scored from outside the penalty box. United fans though won't care and will think at 14 million Euros he was a bargain.

Sean McClare seemed to get games for no reason whatsoever. It was as if they felt they had to play him in front of the likes of Appleby, Tinkler and Bosancic just because he was from the youth system.

Overrated as opposed to garbage....... Bobby Hassell is vastly overrated. Dyer was overrated. Archdeacon was well overrated. Steele is/was overrated. Currie was overrated. They all have their plus points but ALL were never good enough at the level they played at imo. Some will disagree. Maybe a better question would be 'Most underrated/underestimated player....'
