Jolene by Dolly Parton turned up in a batch of singles in an auction lot, I was amazed to discover it changes hands for a tenner on Discogs, play it at 33rpm and you have a brilliant song hiding in there.

Apparently a northern fan asked tony to sign a copy & when he signed it "Tony Blackburn", he was a little disappointed ... hoping he'd signed it "Kenny Gamble".

Paul Nicolas, or Jesus Christ Superstar // Stardust / Just Good Friends fame, cut a good single before he was famous, which is sought after on the mod scene

Just discovered that Tommy James and the Shondelles were white. If you listen to Mony Mony and other hits in the 60s,you would swear they were a Black RnB group.I saw a TV performance from Ed Sullivan show last week, could have knocked me over with a feather.
