Just for a bit of fun mainly but i think these players would enhance our team for a realistic push next season. Obviously we would release more of our squad players to reduce expense too.

    Chris maxwell Preston goalkeeper.
    Grant leadbitter Middlesbrough midfield.
    Solly March Brighton winger.
    Ash Fletcher Middlesbrough striker.
Danny ings liverpool forward loan only now.
    Kevin Long Burnley defender.

I'd be happy with that bit of business. Would ensure we didn't go down therefore saving six million loss in tv revenue immediately. Leadbitter makes every team hes been at tick , a bit like Tom cairney.

All the above are a bit of youth experience and proven ability without going too daft.

None of them are realistic apart from Fletcher and that's pushing the boat out.

Can’t afford the wages of Ings, March,Leadbitter and there will be bigger clubs interested than us. Why on earth have you suggested Chris Maxwell as he starts for Preston and isn’t going to leave them to come here.

Nothing wrong with being ambitious , but also use common sense & realism , only Fletcher & the Preston lad would be possibles, forget the rest

You think he would leave Preston to come here?

Highly unlikely but the op was on about next season & a lot can happen between now & then but personally I am happy with our goalkeeper & do not want him replaced

Unless Preston have got some very rich backers then possibly. Can't see them going up, they're no bigger club than us and we're now a far more attractive proposition than we were a few weeks ago.

I suppose a lot depends on the takeover. I think they want us to be sustainable so can’t see them paying silly fees and wages. However, if they decided to then he could be a target. Personally don’t think there’s much wrong with Davies tbh. Saying that, based off that then we should be trying to poach Brentford’s players. We are a bigger club than them for certain.

I’d say they were a slightly bigger club with a better team tbh. Saying that, don’t think they will go up and if our owners do back us then money talks. Preston’s owner is worth 900M but runs them in a sustainable way unlike the wendies who are at a loss. Loaded but doesn’t want to run the club into the ground if it doesn’t work.

Hmm, fair point. 900 million is a lot of money.

Think Newcastle & another prem side are linked with him , this is exactly an example of suddenly because we have wealthy owners, some fans think these are the type of players we should be signing but at this point of time, its simply not going to happen

Realistically, we don't need to be bringing in the "big" names just yet. We need to go for players who can perform
at Championship level and build season on season until we are strong enough to sustain a challenge at
the top end of the league. Players like Martin ( Derby), Gestede ( Middlesbrough) etc are the kind of players
we should be looking to recruit to initially start the process IMO.
