... actually more so than usual. A fanstic run that has to end some time for sure but done right now would be very damaging; more so than say, in December. Come on Tarn, 8 more wins and we are HOME & HOSED!!!
I was more nervous on Saturday when we knew that Sunderland and Pompey had cocked up. A win was even more important I thought to give us breathing room. Just a normal game day (night) now. We can’t win every game, so just concentrate on this one and then onto the next.
Burton have 23 less points than us. Ten places below us. 17 less goals. Let in a dozen more. Only won a third of their league games. One win in six league games. Any match can be a potential banana skin. However going on the facts the stats present we shouldn't be worrying.
You're right a run has to come to an end at some point and that night is TONIGHT. Our horrendous record of Tuesday night games this season ends with a big tarn win C.O.Y.R (Serious though, I'm really nervous about tonight more so that its the game in hand over Luton and Sunderland and Pompey are both playing also)
I’m always nervous about our games. And it’s all down to us not putting teams to bed. As I’ve said on here - we struggled against Wycombe. I’ve only seen us really dominate a couple of times this season. Hopefully against Burton we can click in the final third of the pitch.
I'm looking forward to it to be honest. The lads are brilliant, and I know they'll give everything they can. We have bags of individual quality, and a team spirit stronger than most clubs in this league. If Albion win then it'll be hard fought, and they'll deserve it the three points; they're not coming to Oakwell and nicking them.
We really didn't struggle against Wycombe . I agree we haven't totally dominated but what teams do? We make chances and score from them. We have a lot of clean sheets or only 1 goal to the opposition at home. I'm feeling fairly confident, the lads are enjoying the winning feeling.
Nervous but excited at the same time. We just need to start winning our games a bit more comfortably. We're a bit like Andy Murray was in the tennis. Federer gets to final beating everyone 6-2,6-2, 6-2. Where as Murray did it winning 6-6 (7-5), 6-6 (7-5) 6-6 (7-5). That's an exaggeration and isn't factual. My point is eventually we'll tire going the whole hog every game.
Yes .......I am! Just think this could be "one of those games". Hopefully our coach and the lads will get us 3 points tho.
I'm not. We are due a midweek performance and it's about time our defenders chipped in with some goals.
We need to get out of the traps and make sure it counts around goal. Burton will be a danger from set pieces. It certainly won't be the sought of team to be giving daft free kicks to.
We've won 3 of our last 7 by 3 clear goals and the 4th by 2 goals, so we don't really overstretch ourselves that often when you look at it. I see Wycombe as our bogey team and even Stendel admitted we find it hard against them for whatever reason, but we came through it in good shape and are now due another performance where we blow away the opposition We have every reason to be optimistic and we really don't want to be conveying anxiety or nerves to the players tonight.
You're right it was listening to that Steve on Tykes TV that got me thinking that way. You're spot on about mentality too. It's amazing how a mindset can change just through listening to someone else and not questioning it. Just blindly following because it was on Youtube.
Just a thought - Mr croft will get a tremendous reception tonight - it would be great if Kieffer was to walkout with him as it was Kieffer who held up the shirt with his name on at the following match.
The number of chances we create someone is going to get battered 5 or 6 nil soon - could be Burton. Alternatively, they could come to frustrate us and nick a point/win like they did last season. I couldn't care less how many chances we miss as long as we win the game.
No more nervous than normal. I was a little bit when we hit 2nd spot because it would have been easy for a bit of complacency to set in. We are very good at this level, but we're not going to have every bit of every game, so I don't agree with this "not putting teams away" theory. You can't comfortably beat every team you play in every game.
I always remember the FA Cup second round tie at Oakwell in 2014 when we scored five without reply against Burton ( Winnall 3, Conor and Devante Cole). We could do with scoring early on tonight to settle us down. Be good if we could also replicate the 2014 score line to narrow the goal difference between us and Luton Town.
