Please for the love of God don't use that word..."winnable". We've failed to win so many winnable games this season. I'd prefer it if we all approached these games as we did the Fulham one, expecting to be dicked - then dishing out the dicking ourselves
The last one wasnt winnable and we won it - the Birmingham and Charlton games were Must Win games and we lost them both To be honest I would say the Middlesboro one is the one we would be most expected to do well in so we are almost certain to lose it We do need to win 7 more games though and 2 of the next 3 would be a good start
One game at a time to use the cliché. Middlesbrough are on another down, so we do heed to capitalise as they will be under pressure too of being dragged back in it if they lose to a team below them.
I must admit it would be nice if, for once, we could actually win a must-win, winnable game. You know, just for the sake of variety.
The next three games are indeed winnable. They are also drawable and loseable. The thing with BFC is you never know what will happen. The Fulham game was a nailed on home win yet, by all accounts, Barnsley deserved 3 points. Birmingham was winnable but the Barnsley performance was so spineless and inept they deserved nothing. God knows what will happen. Could be 9 points or none. Just don't put BFC on your coupon.
For what it's worth, I also think that our home game against Cardiff re- after Boro', Hull and Reading, is also one that we can win. If we can play with the same tempo we showed on Saturday and cut out the mistakes at the back we might be able to fare better than we have previously. Some of the daft goals we have conceded in past games were as a result of Radlinger and Andersen dithering and giving possession away. Hopefully with the defence we fielded against Fulham, we have finally learned our lesson and will not be panicked into playing the wrong balls out of defence.
Imagine a good return from those games? There would be hell on here, what the **** would they moan about, No doubt a video of Chien Lee pissing on the town hall Christmas tree would emerge, or the corner flags are ****.
Tbf I dont think anyone wants bad results that so they can moan( well maybe a very small minority) Am getting a good vibe for Saturdays match ( worked for Huddersfield) but cant/ wont think further than that. If our rivals also win we're still bottom so better to enjoy as a game of football rather than a must win game, plus it s better for my heart rate!
That's about the third or fourth game that folk have said that on here. Its February, long way to go yet. It was curtains v Charlton, Birmingham, Stoke...
Staying up is unlikely but not impossible We are reliant on 3 teams above us doing worse, theres a gap to close plus our gd isn't great. I think the Charlton game was one where it was in our hands to narrow that gap and we didnt take it. I'm feeling positive for Saturday but historically our evening win tally has been low to zero!
