According to this morning's paper Farage is offering a deal to the Tories for his party to stand in northern seats where the Tories don't stand a chance in the north in return for the Tories not contesting these seats. In return the Brexit party will not contest Tory safe seats in the south. This way the right wing vote is not split in any seat.
This to ensure that Johnson gets returned as Prime Minister.

I know that Barnsley was strongly leave in the referendum so will this tactic work in Barnsley? Can the Brexit party beat labour?

Also, is this kind of alliance anti democratic?

So any vote for The Brexit Party is a vote for Conservatives in government again then? I’d hope nobody in Barnsley who hates the Tories would allow themselves to be tricked in this way.

Depends on who the brexit party field in those elections . If they field some left wingers like they did in the euro elections then labour could be in trouble . How many labour voters voted brexit ? 5 million , something like that . I'm afraid in labour's current state those 5 million are completely unrepresented on the left .

And here was/is Labour's problem. Those wanting Remain are so closed off to this issue, they think all Labour had to do was support it and they'd win by a landslide. Will Labour's domestic policies at an election be enough to overcome a lack of a decisive leave policy?

If you're Tory Scum or for some reason think Farage has the interests of Barnsley at heart.

Some Labour seats undoubtedly could be under threat...we discussed it in an earlier thread that in the recent EU elections the Brexit Party polled almost two and a half times the Labour vote.
Ed Miliband and Rosie Winterton's seats in Doncaster have to be in danger...Caroline Flint has been more vocal and might be ok. Having said that Labour will expect to poll much heavier in a GE...my guess is that it's too close to call.

Unfortunately they don’t think they are being tricked. They are too pig headed to see past brexit. Farage does not care a jot about the people he’s asking to vote for him.

Anybody in S. York’s or ex mining areas that votes for any type of Tory party be it for Brexit or anything else should hang their heads in shame .
The very people who sent Horses and Truncheons and thugs in full riot gear against miners in shorts and trainers are no better than scabs as far as I’m concerned .

The same could be said for all those miners who queued up to buy their council houses for next to nothing thus condemning subsequent generations to pay a higher price for housing . Folk are always for socialism when it suits them .

I suspect there'd be enough dimwits and outright racists in certain wards to make it happen. All you have to do is look on Facebook every time Stephanie Peacock is in the local news, droves of her rabid constituents fall over themselves to call her a traitor, remoaner etc.

Not same at all , a million miles away and Tory policy to blame for that and if they would have allowed councils to use money to build new ones there would be no shortages.

Or a carefully laid trap laid by the Tories what the miners happily fell into .

I once commented on a post regarding Peacock. Saying that the ones fecking the country up are in the headlines every day, no one bats an eyelid. Peacock makes the news for her work in the community, everyone loses their rag.

Sadly it sounds like a very sensible policy. I can't see Labour with Corbyn as leader winning a election.

Not just miners but yeah that’s what the plan was to try and stop workers going on strike by some having debt around their neck .
