I think Mondays and Tuesdays fixtures could well decide who go up , massive games for all involved. Portsmouth-Coventry ....Coventry pushing for play offs wont be easy Peterborough- Sunderland .....Peterborough pushing for play offs wont be easy Plymouth- Barnsley ....Plymouth in a relegation battle wont be easy i know Luton should go up now but they have a tough game at home to Wimbledon who are also in a relegation battle like i say massive games coming our way
After the Burton game it was a matter of making sure we won the last 2 homes, and we've done that, but apart from Charlton falling away and Sunderland losing to give us back 2nd spot, nowt much has changed in terms of what we need. I think 3 straight wins would do us, but you just never know. "Must win Monday" coming up. Sunderland and Pompey have a game in hand advantage, but that's blown if they don't win because they play each other next week. Hopefully another team will slip up on Monday, but not us.
Three wins are a must, no question and its going to the last game, no fear. 3 wins would give us a total 94 points. Last season 94 points would have only given us 3rd spot, as Blackburn who finished 2nd had 96... If you fail on 94 then hats off to anyone that tops that..
I expect one of us Sunderland and Pompey to drop points tomorrow, really hope it isn't us of course. If we all win then we will be praying they draw next week.
I'm down in fareham at the moment, been here since Thursday. All the pompy fans are super confident they are going up and point to their game in hand.
It could swing one way or the other but won't be sorted. If we lost and Pompey and Sunderland both won then could well be done for us.
For either them or Sunderland the game in hand will be cancelled out by playing each other. So from our point of view if we win up we are guaranteed to finish above one them. We just dont know which one yet.
The dream outcome for us is we win and both Pompey and Sunderland lose. Five points clear having played a game more but with Pompey and Sunderland to play each other.
why not. we win , both them lose ....as far as im concerned its in our hands again and we wont let it slip this time
But that's not based on anything but your hope.. no fact at all. They'll be Sunderland and Pompey fans saying the same thing as you, but in their own favour. You can imagine scenarios 20 different ways and still be wrong. Just sit back.. if you can.. and wait and see what happens this aft. It may become clearer by 5pm it may not. It will be no clearer if all 3 get the same result today.. win lose or draw.
