I thought/hoped that.. when he said "he wanted to work where he was loved" Nowt against the man personally, but I just don't he's right for us.. up or down..
That wouldn't really surprise me. In the latest interviews on tv and radio Sheff he has sounded very despondent, the look on his face suggested unhappiness, the content of what he said suggested he was already out of the club, a point made by Ganaye in the Chron a week ago. A bright bubbly person shows it... he certainly did not sound bright or bubbly. A shame if it does come to this because in any walk of life you don't like to see people losing their jobs, especially as he has only been here a few weeks, but that has to be tempered by the fact that he will be on lots and lots of money so any grieving for him can be immediately dismissed and he will no doubt go somewhere else on similar pay. If we do stay up then he may stay but at what cost to the club? What will our coming season bring.... probably more misery. If we go down then I quite expect him to leave. I think his remit to keep us up will be seen as failure, no matter what is said on that by others in the club. But where does the line of failure end?
I'd actually be quite happy for him to stay if he keeps us up. See what he can do with his own players and a full pre-season.
Needs sacking at 2.30pm today either way. We should have sacked flitcroft too the minute we stayed up last time. Whilst ever we are trying to turn sows ears into silk purses it’s a poisoned chalice however
If a british manager had come out with the same stuff that josé comes out with in his press conferences i dont think they would have received the same amount of negativity..... Just my opinion of course. As for the rotation policy, cant argue with that it has been bizarre at times.
I feel very sorry for Jose Morais - because I’m sure he would be successful somewhere - but he’s just not been able to turn things around at Barnsley.
Jose moved to a new country, new town, new club. He has had to assess a whole squad of new faces and try and pull them into the shape he wants. He's tried to do things his own way instead of following on with the same ole same old. He's tried to instil some belief and passion into the players and fans. Regardless of what happens today, the bloke has given it a go and I'm appreciative of his efforts. I hope he pulls it out of the bag and sticks around for next season - in fact, I'd like him to stick around whatever happens.
He inherited a squad devoid of the winning mentality yes some of his team selections have been questionable but like it has been mentioned judge him when he’s had a pre season and a transfer window fetching his own players in
Agreed it would have and maybe I’m using the benefit of hindsight to my advantage but we needed a clear out from top to bottom, it came 12 months later. That clear out was the start of the “plan” that same plan needs a major overhaul now as we’ve supposedly progressed
I've said it before, I ain't convinced with him and some of his team selections have been a bit bizarre however if we go down then he has to go however keep us up and he's earned his crack at it next season, sithi.
Whatever the outcome today, like a lot of other " diehards", Barnsley are "my " Club and like I have done for the past 30 years, I will continue to support them. Having said that, with the cash resources at their disposal, this new Board mustn't take our collective loyalty for granted and going forward their ambition has to match " ours" by ensuring, that if we do survive today, we are never, ever in this position again, whilst ever they are in charge of our Club.
Happy with this news. Under Patrick he hoped things would changed and gave them probably too much time. Billionaires are more ruthless and if things aren't working they change it. Morais keeps putting his foot in it with ridiculous comments such as saying he's already succeeded or his time changes.
Hindsight is a great thing we were rock bottom when he took over we looked doomed. Like already said we were 4th in the form table they would have been uproar. We should have never of appointed Wilson after him also.
