..seem to be digs at the club it shouldn't bother anyone.

Item on BBC about netflix film 'War Machine' starring Brad Pitt. Has anyone else seen it?

We saw it when it first came out a couple of weeks ago expecting something to watch on a Friday night - the usual sort of Hollywood movie , i.e. escapism not requiring too much brain power

It was none of the above!!

Absolutely brilliant, black comedy based (not that loosely by all accounts) on the experiences of a real General but completely captures the whole mess (16 years -the longest war that the US has got itself into) and why it will never be resolved through 'military might'. A 'must see' as it, like the BBC states, explains the situation like no news or magazine articles, TV programmes ever have. Brad Pitt is outstanding as is the whole script.

    Classic line from it...

A cynical President Hamid Karzai, hears out Gen McMahon describing how he will mark out a new direction. "We will build Afghanistan into a free and prosperous nation," says Gen McMahon. "Sounds a lot like the old direction," Mr Karzai replies with a knowing smile.
