https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/45209407 Not be long before English teams are playing league matches abroad.
Cant put their own games on with tradition etc it’s gotta be imported for the here and now . Ffs fa sell em Man U/ city Arsenal Chelsea and spurs and Lerrus gerron wi our footbal traditions
Don’t really mind either way. I’d have be pretty bored to watch a full Spanish game. My interest in watching the premier league is dropping like a stone too apart from a few sides who play attacking football.
It's about promoting your team more. I wouldn't mind if Chien got us a TV deal in China that meant home games had to kick off midday so it was prime time Saturday night over there. You do what it takes to increase revenue channels.
Well I would, occasionally is bad enough but bareable, but every Saturday home game at midday, ****** to that.
I for one would stop going. Why should we give up over a hundred years of tradition to suit some jolly come lately wannabe foreign fans.
Why should it be moved for China to watch though? They have the option to watch their local side. This is our local team and we shouldn't be changing this for people at the other side of the world (or country). Also, think about those few people who follow OUR team all over the country home and away. They are bound to already use a large proportion of their wages and holiday allowance to not miss a game. Let's just put this one on in another country. They then might not be able to go. It's just not right.
The NFL has two or three games in London each year, the British fans love it and the players seem to have a good time too.
well If its an English game then its gotta be Wendies vs Leeds they do not come more massive than that do they ?
I'd be very pi55ed off if they did this. It's our club and changing a fundamental tradition in pursuit of some armchair fans would cross a line. The fans who pay to go through the turnstiles and watch from the terraces have to be put first.
Every now and then won't harm us. It's not like it would be 7 am or 10 pm. It would be 2-3 hours earlier, which is nothing if it means getting our name out there more globally. It's not like fixtures moving to another country like with NFL, which I would never agree with. Traditions evolve over time.
In your initial post you seemed to suggest changing to midday to suit overseas audiences, therefore it would become regular. Forget tradition midday is such a crap KO time.
