Still greatly disappointed after a game we could and needed to win was lost due to a young man's lack of self control and dismissal from the field of play. Alot if the backbiting, mudslinging and falling out i feel is due to flustration. The next month is the most crucial since our return to the championship. I don't expect much in the transfer window. I have watched this club long enough(since 1967) to hope for a number of quality ,last minute transfers to turn it all around but time will tell. However Ive been around the block long enough to expect otherwise than dissappointment. It sounds pessimistic but we have been here so many times before. Just hope fortune smiles on us and we defy the odds and stay in the championship. We have the potential to build a good side but i feel not the time or sufficient resources. I truly hope I am wrong.
After having the pleasure witnessing yesterdays first half display then im in no doubt that the players at the club are good enough to keep us in this league. We haven't been in the bottom 3 all season,I just like many more would have taken 4th from bottom at the start of the season. The new owners have to be careful that they dont bring in any overpaid prima donnas in this window it could unsettle the players on lower wages that are already here.
Never thought we'd win yesterday. To find ourselves in with a chance of doing that for 44 minutes or so was promising and conditioned the disappointment to follow. Didn't really change much. We are capable of digging ourselves out, and will bounce straight back if we do go down. Nah then.
Yesterday's performance shows the team is up for it and can compete when they pull together and give it their all. If we can play like this and like we did against Wolves we have every chance...just need calmer heads and a bit of luck wouldn't go amiss. More than anything we need to keep Hecky.
If Davies pushes that poor header over the bar, or the officials give offside against the scorer, who is laid on the line, we come away with a point. Just need to avoid silly mistakes for the rest of the season and we'll be OK.
