Not defending what Boris said, no way. But let me try it from a slightly different angle if I’m not making myself clear. There’s no evidence that the police man involved had received any training from Israeli forces. There’s no evidence that the technique he used when killing George Floyd is in any way related to Israel. But Peake chose to link the murder with Israeli forces. Our forces routinely train with the Americans. Why make the connection with Israel to the exclusion of anyone else ?? Because allegedly there’s an agenda against Israel within labour. Folk can dismiss it as tory press lies all they want, I believe what I believe to be true.

So by the same token then if it comes to light that Israeli special forces have indeed provided training to US police forces then you would logically retract your comments about the issue being one of antisemitism? Surely that is the logic.

Not quite, if it were proven that the police officer involved had been trained specifically on that technique as a result of interaction with Israeli forces then of course they’d be no case to answer. Fact is he may well have learned it elsewhere but the position of some labour luvvies is to go straight for Israel.

Which is quite possibly what happened!

There’s no evidence to suggest that the Israelis trained the police that killed George Floyd, and that is the original allegation. It’s sad that it would be described as an ‘anti Semitic conspiracy theory’ when it’s just an inaccurate or unprovable allegation against the Israeli secret service. But that’s the world we’re in.

You're right. There is an agenda against Israel.
I have an agenda against Israel. They're constantly committing abuses of human rights.
That doesn't make me a racist. It makes me critical of the government of Israel.
How can you not accept that disagreeing with the actions of a government is not racist?
Do you agree with the actions of Mugabe's Zimbabwe?
    Xi's China?
    Putin's Russia.
    Bolsonaro's Brazil?
    Castro's Cuba?
I know you can't possibly support all those regimes. That doesn't make you a racist.

Not really followed this story, but didn’t something come out after that he sacked her because she refused when asked to take the post down and saw it as a challenge to his position?
Not defending or condoning the decision either.

Really? when Starmer should have been going after the 40m tax fiddle he chooses to split the party again. This is the ****** who calls for party unity but never shows it himself. You do realise the US Police have been training in Israel? She was sacked for nothing and Starmer will never get my vote now. The Labour Party will.

In 2015 Starmer himself was calling for sanctions against Israel

Keir is easily bought off I'm afraid . He must have owed a favour to someone so long bailey had to go . Yet another centrist red Tory out for themselves .

    This.
It was no knee jerk reaction. She refused to apologise or retract the tweet long after the newspaper had retracted the accusation.

Allegedly it was a 4hr standoff.

I’m truly puzzled by some on the hard left. Is it really better to have a radical leader and never get into power or someone nearer the centre who could get into power.

There’s policies Blair adopted I wish he hadn’t, and ones he didn’t that he should. But 2 terms of New Labour was still better than 2 terms of Conservative surely?

Yep , let's stifle robust debate and just talk about what Keir wants you to talk about . I'll give long bailey her due as shadow education secretary . She stood with the unions to air her concerns regards the safety of students and teachers amid the re opening of schools .

    https://labour.org.uk/press/rebecca...-to-todays-announcement-on-schools-reopening/

Obviously now she's gone kier will find someone far more suitable .

On the subject of the thread, I’ll only say I do not know enough on the subject to say anything further than RLB was right to be punished and the sentiment of the quote was unacceptable.

On the subject of your post, a vote is not a bet on who you reckon will win.
When you have evidence that many of those that have now taken control of the Labour Party celebrated the conservatives win, where was their concession through years of attacking and undermining Corbyn?
Now this shift to try to attract the lowest common denominator, ‘I would love to vote labour again if they only build in a bit more jingoism, be a bit more like Boris’. The abandoning of hard fought environmental policies etc etc.
The above means I’ll be unlikely to vote labour under KS, if the policies settle as it looks like they will. Probably greens. I know a lot like me. Seems like a gamble to take in more Tory voters than leave the party. We shall see.

Really? It's Starmer splitting the party?

Does RLB not have any responsibility for her actions?

She shouldn't have shared the article, with the tweet she used, which at least gives the impression of endorsement. Once she did, she should've taken it down, or re-shared it with a correction of the offending piece.

If you think sacking RLB distracts from what the tories are doing, it would've been ten times the distraction if he hadn't sacked her.
