As travel abroad will eventually come back I want to warn my fellow posters about this lot....post lockdown we booked flights with a firm called Travel Trolly...remember the name cos if you look on Skyscanner they will most likely come up as one of the cheapest...So far the excuses range from "we only represent Air France so they owe you not us" to "Yes we will refund ...in about 12 months " not getting owt back anytime soon so please. if ya looking at flights stay clear...
On the other hand, we booked with lastminute.com and were due to go to Barcelona at the end of March. They were brilliant all the way through, regular emails to ask us to be patient and to leave them to sort it for us, which they did for both hotel and flights. Then offered us 3 different cash/voucher refund options for both parts, we chose vouchers in the end as they gave us more than the value that we paid for them and allow you 12 months to book something but don’t have to holiday within 12 months. Sorry to hear you’ve had a **** time but there are good firms out there too and I hope it’s them that survive.
Likewise, Carlton Leisure, charged us £150 "admin fee" on £1100 flights, took them 14 weeks to refund us then we've had to do a charge back for the £150. Thieves, hopefully they don't survive.
We always book with Travel Empire in Wombwell. Hardly any difference in price, sometimes cheaper, and hassle free. We got our refund quickly and all I did was ask for it on the phone. TE did the rest, can’t speak highly enough.
