It's absolute ******** if games are not played but relegations still happen. The season is 46 games not less games and then average it out, that's becomes completely dependant on the luck of how fixtures were laid out on who teams have played twice.
I cant help thinking that just freezing the league and relegating - promoting based on current ppg is just wrong - but fortunately for the EFL the bottom 3 are only the likes of Barnsley Luton and Charlton. Do we seriously think they would do the same had it been Derby Birmingham and Leeds and as Conway says what about the financial fair play penalties - are we just going to ignore those I still think we should finish the league before we start the next one -
The cynic in me thinks that had this happened a few years earlier and the bottom three were Leeds, Villa and Sunderland, the proposal would look completely different.
We're down then. Who's fault is it? THE BOARD! Let's not let them off by blaming COVID instead. They F***ed up massively last summer. If they'd kept Pinnock we'd have stayed up.
Me neither - but we should have the chance I dont think Charlton will go down if we play out the season - they have every right to be aggrieved it that happens - us and Burton Luton are probably down anyway but shouldn't at least Wednesday go down. A 10 point deduction which is far less than they should be given puts them below Charlton. Would a novel idea to be in the case that we cant finish the season the sides who broke the FFP rules are relegated before those that didnt?[/S]
I can't understand how you'd just chalk fck on a season. Surely it's so much easier to finish this season whenever it is safe to do so - then truncate the following season. This way, everyone knows where they stand at the start of next season, they know exactly what is required and exactly how many number of games they'll play. Everyone can prepare then.
I don't think Burton will go down from the championship I would like the idea of clubs breaking away from the EFL and playing their own set up on a more even playing field. Plenty of other sports have rival organisations.
Majority required? Most of the mid table teams wouldn't give a ****, a couple of grand for higher positions at stake and that's it. Who would bother arguing against it? The 3 in the bottom, a couple sniffing the play offs and a couple within a few points of automatic. Sue the ******** Conway.
The principle of relegation across all three divisions is integral to the integrity of the pyramid What with an incomplete season? F uck off! so they need 51% vote for this to go through ..... Top 6 will all vote yes As will all clubs at risk of relegation so that’s 14 bottom 3 and those with a chance of play offs will probably vote against so that’s 10 best case I guess Fulham might vote against. We’re down..
My ignorance but are they definately voting on this? And if a majority vote it through then the season is over? Or that would be a vote for this course of action IF the season can't be finished and they would still try and finish irrespective of the vote on this plan?
Not necessarily will top six vote for it imo . They have a chance of going up automatically instead of a lottery which they would probably be in even if the vote doesn’t carry Also Gibson on record as supporting action on flouters. Ps Also if the 51% majority Is not laid out in the rules already there may be a contention in that .
Listen, as long as Barnsley were in a relegation spot we're always doomed, if it had been the pigs, Brum and Derby that were bottom 3 then I am convinced things would been looked at differently, could be wrong minst
This followed by a salary cap. That would be a right double whammy for us Portsmouth, Sunderland, Ipswich, Charlton etc.
Any team within 8 points of the playoffs would be daft to vote to end the season now. It'll be a close vote.
