That explains why the team didn't seem to have any leadership yesterday. The head coach was at a different game

Have to say that if JM thought the second half was "more dynamic and more effective" then I am more worried now. The only honest assessment would have been "we were worse than awful and it was totally unacceptable"

I'm really trying to remain positive about Jose but it's getting very difficult when he comes out with nonsense like this.

We have a problem - that some on here think the players are not up to beating teams like Norwich and Millwall - and that’s after we clearly dominated both games but didn’t have players in the right place for anyone to score.
We wouldn’t have scored against Millwall if we had played them all week.

We didn’t dominate either game. We had more of the ball but what did we actually create? The opposition had the best chances.

Teams know what we’re like. If you keep it tight for us they know we’ll give them chances to win it

On the very limited data so far, Jose is underperforming Hecky on all available stats (points per game, goals per game, goals conceded, wins per game). In addition, Jose's actual managing career seems to be a story of diminishing returns (win rate of >73% with Esperance in 2008-09, reducing with each of his subsequent clubs managed, down to >14% in his 7 games so far with us). Jose has had the benefit of McBurnie and the other January signings in all his games so far. Hecky had the benefit of Harvey Barnes and Ike Ugbo.

In his wider coaching career, Jose has worked with talented players and gaffers. Does he have the experience of grafting and winning ugly when a club needs to achieve safety? If he pulls it off, maybe we'll see better next season. Clearly he will be limited by what the owners wish to do in terms of investment, however. Their intentions presently don't look to me like a great advance on the previous regime's, and they will presumably be limited further by lower League One revenues if we go down.

Hecky was given too much time, I am prepared to see what happens after a transfer window and some time for Jose to make his own team. We aren't down yet this season although things don't look great. At the end of the day though, as fans, all we can do is watch, hope and support.....

People get swept away by possession stats these days. I left after 70 mins so can only comment on what I saw. We created some chance and the Millwall keeper made a couple of good saves. But we never looked like we had them worried.

Well we are capable I suppose as we did manage to beat Millwall away. We aren't capable of doing it very often though.

Exactly. There were 4 clear chances in the game. They scored through Gregory with one & missed two one on one’s & the other clear chance was McBurnie’s off the line. The Marshall’s strikes a beauty that wasn’t really a chance. Moncur & Moore had decent attempts for us but you’d expect any championship standard keeper to save them efforts

well it probably was than the first half but thats not setting the bar very high. I thought we managed to stop the trend of having one decent half and one dreadful one though - just one very poor half followed by one poor half - cant see any positives to take from Saturday - and it was freezing in the West Stand as well

Stop pissing about JM and play four four two . It’s incredulous that when we had Bradshaw up front on his own we played with two wingers , now we’ve got two big lads but no wingers to put a cross in . Thiam and McBurnie are wasted out wide , get KM and OM up front , AH and LI to supply the ammo and let’s have a fooking go .

Too many mediocre foreigners invaded the game for my liking.

What like Pep & Jose on the management front & Hazzard & De Bruyne on the player front ? All the top managers & all the top players are foreigners in our game

What like wolves ? Who’ll piss this league . Let’s get 11 lads from darn pit that’ll sort it ffs . Stand still you go backwards and we’ve been doing exactly that as a club for a long time . I don’t care if our players come from Timbuktu as long as they’re good enough !
