I've heard it's to do with the new rules that feeder clubs can only play against their parent club on a Sunday.

    3 big problems with this
First a Sunday - if you have really got to move it why not Saturday lunchtime as is normally done - I doubt I can make the game now And quite a few others will have problems for various reasons.
But a second and bigger problem why wait until now to make the announcement. I know people who waited until the Sky fixtures were released and then booked train tickets - to get to Barnsley in time for a 12 o'clock kick off as they thought there was a good chance it would be moved from 3 now they are well out out of pocket. but if they wait until just a few days before to give the police every chance to move games it costs a fortune on the train anyway The fixtures have been out for weeks - why cant changes be made within a few days
Finally why can every other police force in the country cope except SYP

Understand where you are coming from Marlon, but the club are over a barrel. If they say no and something happens then the backlash would be huge and you can guarantee SYP will wash their hands and go told you so.
What I don’t understand is how the FL allow it as they have to agree too.
You would think they would be saying hang on a minute

I can see where you are coming from but cant agree completely in football and everything else there are a minority of law breakers and a majority of decent law abiding citizens. In any case I suspect its the reputation of Leeds that has got the game moved.
My experience of Barnsley fans is we have a few idiots especially away but probably no more than many other clubs and at home I dont really see much trouble but we seem to be particularly singled out by SYP far more than other clubs in other areas or even the 2 sheffield clubs
we can see this in games being moved, the fact we can only sell 75% of the seats in the away stand (how is that our fault)

My real gripe here though is 12:30 sunday is just a really bad time its far worse than 12:30 Saturday if you really have to have a lunchtime kick off
yes we have a few fans who cause problems but so does every other Club
why not put a curfew on streets at night to make policing easier as some people going out to pubs and restaurants cause trouble as well

Probably so but just can’t understand why we don’t question it especially when we seem to get exceptional treatment from them .
Club have a duty imo to be honest with fans that have paid upfront for season tickets imo.
A simple statement from club ad to why they have agreed or reason why they’ve had to agree would be fair to us .
I’m not saying club have much choice in this but more honesty is required imo

I don't think the club give a **** either. The majority of fans are season ticket holders anyway and the away end will be full at £36 a head regardless of the kick off time.

The Leppings Lane ‘ bottlenecking’ has been there ever time time I’ve been to Hillsbro’ and until they make all the Home fans walk around the front ’Kopside’ of the ground it will continue. Imagine fans from the West and East Stands at Oakwell walking around the back of the North stand after the game when there’s a large away following, carnage. The number. of times I’ve seen Reds approached by the Wednesday Hoolies as they’ve left the ground and no Police, (well not until Other fans have responded to the threats) Often wonder if It’s done on purpose.

It means I have to get up at 4:00 on a Sunday morning, after a Saturday night out, to watch it on iFollow.

Looks like I'll have to wait until the 10-minute highlights reel is available.

The last couple of Leeds games I've come to the match on the train & it was a nightmare. Going to drive down this year.

Lol what can the club do if syp and leeds want it moved? We are never allowed to play Wednesday, leeds or United at 3pm Saturday and that's nothing to do with us charging the same as leeds will charge us.

Haven't we any loud mouthed and lairy p1ssed up vicars who post on here who could have this overturned on religious grounds?
Surely we have a Man of God within the BBS community.

Actually, what about Shaun Dooley? Wasn't he the vicar in Eastenders?
He'll be able to sort this.

The club aren't going to lose any revenue, so there's no incentive for them to oppose it. They've already priced out the walk up crowd anyway.

Do you think barnsley could get it overturned? when syp and leeds wanted a diffrent kick off time? The club have already said we would be charging the same as our away fans will get charged at elland road even if the kick off was midnight saturday so that's irrelevant.

Barnsley v Leeds falls into two criteria, the Police could use either or both.

    1, Local Rivalries

    2, High Risk Games

Rotherham's home game against Leeds last season kicked off at 3pm. Maybe they told SYP where to stuff their lunch time kick off on that occasion.

    https://www.skysports.com/football/rotherham-vs-leeds/preview/392887

The club aren't interested in match day income, they've made that abundantly clear. They haven't been interested for a long time, because of the high percentage of season ticket sales. The number of hoops the fans who have already paid have to jump through won't register on their Richter Scale. There would be more of a discussion if they hadn't already banked most of the gate receipts.

Great , I can go now as I’m at The Ledger on Saturday

Perhaps SYP are overstretched due to that?

Perhaps Rotherham paid more for the police than we are prepared to?

Yep, especially when it's Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Durham police on duty.
