    both pindar oaks and toby jug were down there and both were demolished,it was the pindar that had the gas explosion.

    another bit of trivia,...there used to be a pit on the pindar oaks site.

    I was born in the Pinder Oaks Maternity Hospital, but was too young to know anything about the pit or the boozers.

    I was born there. My mum and Dad were the landlord/lady there when I was born (1961). They moved there from The Trafalgar in the town centre when it was compulsory purchased to make way for the CoOp
    No memories of it really as we moved shortly afterwards.

    It was Trev and yes it went up in 87....I would also point out that I was the landlord at the time of the said explosion. ...which is common knowledge on this board....so those that wish once again to pass comments. On a subject that they have no insight and Base their knowledge on rumours...word of warning be careful
