    We don't seem to be able to spot a striker like we can a defender.

    How many have we signed now?

    Mike Phenix, Kayden Jackson, Shaun Tutton, Brad Ash, Harry White, Stefan Payne.

    Only really Payne made it into first team. This bloke doesn't seem prolific even in non league.

    If we sign him, or anyone else, good luck and hope they do the business.

    I would rather have Oliver Watkins from Exeter City, but then in know nothing about Hawkins. Watkins looked good in short bursts last season, but is in red-hot form this season and has a touch of class, as well as a spiky temperament. Hat trick over Christmas. Worth watching along with McGeehan (I know he just bust his leg) and Jack Marriott at Luton. Get scouting, chaps.

    Haven't we been lookin at Ollie Watkins? May be thinking of someone else but his name certainly rings a bell. And def fits our criteria.

    Unless that is 250,000 and you're counting the comma we should steer clear.

    Given Jackson was there imagine we watched him a lot. Games I saw, admittedly last season, he looked like he lacked a decent touch, looked clumsy, but scored a lot at L1 as he's big and strong. Like a young Akinfenwa.

    Think he's out of our reach if Grimsby are asking for that much. Looks a good player no doubt but if we spent a lot on him there's always a chance of it not working out. Our strategy has always been signing players relatively cheaply (think Bradshaw's probably been our most expensive signing in last few years) and therefore the ones who haven't worked out haven't cost us much at all. Would rather us try to sign Mandeville from Doncaster or Watkins from Exeter although I doubt they'll be cheap either

    I could see him being the type of striker we'd go for. At 350k he's a snip and a bit of a raw talent. With our track-record of developing players I think he'd be keen.
