I think if we win it's likely that someone else will take her position as Home Secretary.

She's stepped up to a role she's probably not suited for when the right of the party ran away. For that I commend her but as I say I'm sure there would be a reshuffle.

Do it, Tyrone. If nowt else, the destruction the Tories will bring if they get back in won't be your fault.

It's hard to think it would get any worse than May but it would. Diane Abbott is an absolute joke. It's laughable how she's even get as far as she has. Oh yeh, now I remember..

She's a bellend of the highest order. She's no reason not to vote for hope and a brighter future. She will be shuffled away.

I was going to say that in the unlikely event of a Labour government Diane Abbott would have no chance of a top job ..... then I remembered Boris Johnson is Foreign Secretary

Agree with Redstar (may be a first). In the event of Jezzwecan winning, there will have to be at least a partial rapproachment with some of his parliamentary colleagues. That would be necessary just to fill the posts. He will surely see that someone more sensible will have to be located at the Home Office. John Healey would have the intelligence for it, for one. The sainted Diane can then be quietly shuffled off to the House Of Lords.

Surely Jezza wants to abolish the House of Lords?

If he promised so to do, and to abolish the ability to pay for your kid's education, I'd think about voting for him.

The problem with private schools is not that the standard of teaching is higher or that the institutions have more resources. The problem is the cronyism that stems from the system, and the fact that any dumpling who went to private school will always have an advantage over state school kids. I have first hand experience of this.

Exactly. You shouldn't be able to pay to have your child have an educational advantage in life.

Giving them your money (if you have it) should be enough of an advantage.

Let meritocracy be given a hand up.

That's a strange way of not voting for a party because you don't like a single person namely, Diane Abbot,

I don't like my MP Angela Smith the Blairite with more Conservative views than Labour but I will vote for her because I look at it as a vote for Labour. I also think Diane Abbot is a disaster by the way, but no way would it put me off voting for the party that would bring more content for me and my family.

We need a consensus on the best types of schools for kids, and then all kids should have the option to go to the type of school that best suits them. If that is grammar and comprehensive (for example, I don't believe those are the best options personally), then each area should have sufficient of both to fit the needs of the kids and give them the best possible education. All other schools should be closed down or changed into one of those. No free schools, academies, private schools or (especially) religious schools.

To vote for a party based on the personal dislikes and likes of particular members of it rather than policy is an appalling misuse of democracy.
