i'd hazzard a guess that they would be cheaper from china than the eu so i doubt price will be an issue and i doubt the uk will hit china with tarrifs and start a trade war

    .

Part of the reason is that nobody - even on the Leave side - thought that everyone would be stupid enough to let it come to crashing out with no arrangements whatsoever with a couple of months' notice. Leaving the EU but staying in the single market, for example, would have been annoying but not the end of the world.

So you blame the remain campaign for not indulging in the same level of bullshittery and hyperbole rather than blaming the leave campaign for their bullshittery and hyperbole?

Jesus. Modern politics is utterly fvcked

    Yes!
Have a think through what the actual problem is...
Is it because the insulin is only available from the EU? No
Is it because it won’t be available from the EU any longer? No
Is it because it’s not available from elsewhere? No

So what use is your answer?

Why don't we source from China then anyway in that case? I'm no expert on medical buying but there's nothing to stop us doing that now is there?

No Cant you read?? I blame the remain campaign for not campaigning well enough what they believed would happen. They wasted the whole campaign trying to belittle the leave campaign. Rather than tell people why we should remain.

What should they have done? As I see it there are only 2 effective ways to campaign against bullsh1t promises of magic NHS money:

    1. Point out that it's all bullsh1t, or
    2. Come up with your own bigger pile of bullsh1t.

I read this post and considered carefully, does such a naïve rather immature post deserve a reply and I decided to briefly reply.

I vote labour - I voted to leave - that doesn't give you the right to call me a racist, or stupid, or idiotic - does it?

Or come up with a much better campaign of their own stating job losses, possible deaths, poverty etc and think of ways of getting that across to the masses so that it sticks in people’s minds. Because constantly saying that’s bullsh1t obviously didn’t work did it.

Yes your right about about the ineffectual campaign of remain although it still run vote leave and leave the EU very closely .
But now we do know what is most likely to happen at the worst do you think we should have chances ce to reconsider ?
Or do you think we should still carry on and possibly fall off the cliff ?

I see too much of that in these debates, when folk resort to insults then you know that you have them on the ropes. I’ve reached the point where I’ve had a word with myself and decided not to bother with these debates on here, no one changes their minds and if you’re part if the silent majority you just get insults.

Look forward to that in 5-6 years time. always up for cheaper medicine.

Although I do have a nagging worry that the EU would probably be able to get a better deal than us as they represent 10-20 times more customers.
I'm applying logic there, but that's not to say we won't get a terrific deal which is better than the EU's, which will make the few years of increased prices worth it. As you say after 10 years or so when its evened out (i.e. increased cost for 5 years - savings for 5 years) we will be rolling in gravy.

It’s a tough one but as we’re on a footy forum.

Just because a team as an off day in a big match, should that match be replayed?

Obviously more at stake here :) I don’t want no deal but not Keane on another referendum

That’s not how I remember the campaign or even close to what I remember.

What I remember was the the remain campaign listing all the problems leaving the EU would create, and the Leave campaign shouting them down with ‘project Fear’, remember ‘we’ve had enough of experts’?

The official leave campaign distilled their message down to 2 sound bites*:
    Taking back control
    £350m for the NHS

Meanwhile the unofficial leave campaign campaigned on immigration and Turkey.

*the success of this campaign can’t be underestimated, it was played brilliantly by Cummings - but the master stroke was allowing the unofficial campaign to do the dirty work, so our politicians didn’t have to sully themselves with issues that could get them branded racist.

In no way would I belittle the success of the Leave campaign, but to suggest that the Remain camp were at fault for not playing it as well is hugely disingenuous to both sides.
