Looking forward to all the apologies from those that were so confidently announcing that restrictions would be in place forever. I’ll not hold my breath.
Are you one the those types that don't move but expect me to? Not particularly COVID related but I'm really fed up with walking along with my partner and going single file when meeting people coming the other way only for both of us to be forced further over onto the road as the 2 or 3 coming the other way make no effort whatsoever to give us any room.
They were never going to be here forever - that was just the ridiculous claim made by those who wanted them scrapping earlier. They will, however, be back with us in a couple of months due to Johnson's cowardice and utter incompetence.
We’ll see. All depends how effective the vaccines are against new variants. I wouldn’t be surprised either way.
As much as I've always been on the cautious side, I think it's pretty much now or never. Personally I would have lifted capacity restrictions back on June 21st and then gradually relaxed rules on masks, isolation etc. I'm not sure basically dropping everything on the 19th is the best way but what will be will be. Really pleased for everyone who's really struggled with the restrictions and the lack of pub, football social lives etc. This year as been hard. Just please remember to respect people by doing your best to give a bit of space to others and popping a mask on if you're in a crowded or busy shop. At least at the start. Hopefully that way we won't risk going backwards with the rules.
