thanks, my cousin was a mechanic for a number of years and only lives down road but typically is working away currently so cant get him round to take a look. Got my girlfriends dad coming round later to take a look, he also works in a car dealership so hopefully will be able to sort me a good deal on a replacement if it comes to that.

Hope you get it sorted Nathan, but if not my father in law is selling an 05 Honda civic as he's just had a stroke so can't drive for a while, he's had it for about 13 years so it's in decent condition, don't know what it's worth but guessing around £500.

Motor loan policy - spoken to company today and they basically said that its essentially like getting a personal loan so regardless of whats happened I still have to keep up the payments until its paid off or pay it off in full.

It depends what your car is worth & how much money you have for expensive repairs to a car that may not be worth it. I get your point if it is one worth a good few grand, as it ain't a cheap repair. I got a pickup through it's MOT on it & got a good trade in on a new car with a dealership.

The things we do for women ey aha. Moved to where I am recently as its the area my missus is from and she has horses that she keeps around here so needed to be this way. Just means I have a long trek to and from work but at the moment with covid the traffic is bliss so been fine lately until my car died on me.

Make sure you have the radiator checked if you keep it. I went through 4 head gasket/skims and 4 heater matrix's due to a blocked radiator. Kept pressurising the system.

I am a bit tall and fat for her horse though. Don't want the RSPCA after me for crushing a horse.
