For those who are fans, we've hit 179 - 5 tonight against the Warwickshire 'Brummie' Bears. So can we defend that disappointing total, as they are 19 - 1 right now. I know a lot of fans don't care for this quick slog version of the game but I think its exciting. I just wish we had a full squad to select from.
Let's hope they get a win. It's needed. Crowd looking decent which goes against what some say on here.
Another dismal show with the bat by Adam Lyth (8) & Peter Handscome (4). Also it looks like this is our last chance of a trophy this season. Edit: Warks are 32 - 3 now from 5 overs.
I prefer a test match but I still like the T20 format. Personally I will be surprised if we manage to win.
We should beat them Mario as they have been struggling for a few years now. Although form usually doesn't count for much in T20.
They're now 120 - 6, they need 60 to win from 34 balls! (this does still favour the batting side) Come on Yorkie lads, remember the White Rose. Edit: A big double breakthrough for us, they are 132 - 8. They now need 48 from 24 balls, with 2 wkts left!!
And its in there!!! (as Brian Moore used to say when a goal was scored) Warks 150 all out, Yorks win easily in the end by 29 runs. Now the brummie Bears can go back home to Birmingham and tell Harry Redknapp hes a complete over rated and over paid pratt!! Top 4 Table after our win... (before tonights other results) 1. Leics 8 pts, pld 4 2. Yorks 6 pts, pld 5 3. Lancs 6 pts, pld 5 4. Derbs 6 pts, pld 5
By the way I forgot about doing the updates for yesterdays match, we gained another T20 win against Worcestershire despite one of their players hitting six sixes in an over!!
Yeah Ross Whiteley. Sheffield lad and always seems to score big against us. Still another great win with terrific batting display. Such power in our lineup and Rashid and Patterson especially were fantastic with the ball; 4 overs for just 20 and 3 for just 8 runs is fantastic especially in the context of the game. Our batting's as good as anyone's but it will be the bowling that will prove crucial if we are to win. With Plunkett still to come back it's looking good atm
These 2 'home' wins were vital this weekend and now we should be looking to win at least 1 of the next 2 games against Leicester & Durham. Finishing in the groups top 4 is our main objective of course and that means a place in the Qtrs. If that happens, then fingers crossed eh. Its annoying that we haven't had many consistent good batting AND bowling performances together in matches this season, its been mostly one or the other.
No sir, I wouldnt. I havent got a clue what they are to be honest but hes not been the same with the bat has he since helping us win those 2 successive County titles.
Fair enough, but whats his average in the County champship, about -6 I bet. At least hes been better than Alex Lees though, only just!
