Our goal yesterday reminded me of the great Eric Winstanley era

Then it was accurate crosses from a little number eleven called George Hamstead, onto Big Winnie's head and into the goal.

Yesterday it was an equally terrific cross from a little number eleven called Lloyd Isgrove onto Big Ethan's head - same result!

I've seen it over and over now and what struck me was how high Pinnock got off the ground to get his head to the ball. That's something we have been lacking for some time - a player with a good leap scoring a headed goal. I know Issy did it at Wembley but you couldn't play him consistently at centre forward could you.

I just wonder how good Pinnock is up front. We've seen so little of him up to now but the fact that Hecky shoved him up front yesterday shows me that he has some faith in him as an emergency forward. Maybe he is the answer? It woudn't be the first time a defender has been converted into a forward. Jon Parkin did very well. Steve Walsh at Leicester. There must be others.

Kenny burns was always shoved up front for us when we struggling, loved seeing him lumber around crashing into defenders

Talking about defenders who were converted into forwards though, not just those who moved up front for part of a game

Oh yes, forgot about him. One of the many who did good things for other teams but flopped with us.
