found this on Amazon https://www.amazon.co.uk/Owzthat-tr...?ie=UTF8&qid=1521661750&sr=8-1&keywords=OWZAT I had a version of it as a kid , but it was just two pieces made of metal in a little blue tin... anyone else remember this. It was back in the day when the most powerful Computer generated graphics etc were still being used ..... "Your Imagination "
Used to play my Cousin for hours with that game. He was an acute asthmatic , so poor lad couldn't do any physical excercise. He was a big sports fan, so his Dad bought him all the games available to compensate. Not unusual to spend hours playing Subbuteo, Owzthat or our favourite football game Wembley, when it was raining. Spotted that that particular game is also available on Amazon.
My favourite party game is that everybody drinks a bottle of whisky. Somebody then leaves the room and you have to guess who it is.!
Played that in the class back row at Holgate with Eddie Ledgard who went on to have a great career in the cricket championship!!
I was born in '81 but used to play this for hours with my uncle. I'd pick my best Yorkshire XI, world XI or all time XI before we'd start. Bloody loved it. Remember buying a modern plastic version in the early noughties, but it had none of the romance of the two rusting originals.
I made one in metalwork - dead easy just needed a punch set and some hexagonal rod a saw and a file - no idea what happened to it * Not quite as good as the bought ones as taking the edges off was not so perfect so they didnt roll quite as well spent many a happy hour playing it in my schooldays I love this in the description in DT's link Assembly Required No Batteries Required? No Batteries included? No Remote Control Included? No * In case this was in contravention of some patent or copyright there is no evidence to back up my first sentence
There was also a Football version played on a small green plastic pitch that was divided into squares . Cannot remember the name but it was in the mid late sixties .
Did anyone have test match cricket? Bowler had a tube you placed a small ball bearing on. Pitch was a green baize and had to be perfectly flat. Hours of fun.
No but I remember it at least one of my school friends had it. I had subbuteo cricket where bowling was a bit different but it was also good fun young people of today haven't lived with all this ultra realistic computerised versions instead.
I had the metal ones but lost em. Some one bought me the plastic ones from ingoldmells market two quid.
