RE: What and spoil a good witch hunt Yes i agree. Maybe he should be warned that for his own safety it's best that he does not attend.
That would be sad Paul if you are right. Someone can get banned from Oakwell for racism and yet someone can pay to download pictures of little kids and be allowed to be around them at the footie.
It's sad but true. The club cannot ban someone for their criminal history. It would be like banning someone for being a burglar. I think that people with children in that stand need to know a peadophile is there, then they can take precautions if they see fit. Eg. not letting children go to the toilets alone
however how do we know that he is the only one Just because he is high profile due to the fact that his ego meant he craved attention doesn't mean he is the only sex offender at oakwell (unfortunatly). Also while I feel that his crimes are disgusting I have to question at what point we draw the line. Should a man that has commited sex crimes against an adult female be banned from Oakwell too as I'm sure no woman would want to be sat next to a convicted rapist and again there will most likely be at least one who goes to games. Somebody who has commited very serious violent crimes? Football can evoke great anger in many people and I wouldn't fancy sitting next to someone who could snap at any minute and attack me because of a disagreement over football.
'Wot he said. Contacting the club?? If the daft ba*tard wants to put himself at risk by going to Oakwell, then let him - it's keeping him away from a computer, if nowt else.
That is an interesting point kanecat Males go in the male toilets, females in the female toilet. I believe that the newspaper articles at the time stated that he was found with images of underage girls not boys yet it is automatically assumed that he is gay. I'm not sure of the relevence of that at all but I find it interesting that the assumption is automatically made by pretty much everyone. I wonder if that is because of high profile cases such as Jacko and the occasional story of priests and alter boys.
RE: however how do we know that he is the only one Yes i know where you are coming from, but we are dealing with one that we do know about. I feel that people have the right to the knowledge that a paedophile is attending games so they can be more alert to the safety of their children. As for other disgusting crimes you are right where do we draw the line.
Harrow says the club cant exclude him cos its not a football related crime...... surely the club can exclude who they want.......
RE: That is an interesting point kanecat I didn't presume that he was gay, i read the paper therefore know it was images of females not males. He obviously got a warped mind so i think that care should be taken with all children around him.
RE: Harrow says Yes they can, but he might take the matter further if banned. Human rights and all that ******, a creature like that is not a human never mind having any rights buts that's the laws of the land and all that.....
Where in the paper did it mention boys or that he is gay? I'm not defending him at all, i'm just interested in whee the homosexual element came into it.
RE: Where in the paper did it mention boys or that he is gay? Sorry didn't make that last post clear. I meant by reading the paper i knew that it didn't state he was an homosexual
I think that as the club would most likely find it very hard to ban him without opening themselves up they could at the very least ensure that no child sits within a few seats of him (ie at least arms length) or has to brush past him to get to their seat. Basically take steps to protect people.
I just find it interesting how people assume he/they are gay. I would have no idea if that is true at all but find it an interesting assumption. Children shouldn't be going to the toilet unattended anyway in my opinion.
He might not have a season ticket. If he's paying in on the day he can sit where he wants. I just hope the club advise him not to attend games
