    There is a thought .
Jon Nixon 4k from Peterborough and Mick Prendegast 10k from the wendies in 78 come to mind .
Mick could have been a good signing but it didn't work out .
Too old or got injured , my memory fails me .

Both panic buys, Iley's last throw of the dice, and (in my opinion) both were absolute rubbish. No redeeming qualities whatsoever.

My worst panic buy was 20 Silk Cut from a delivery service for £20. I only wanted one.

I once panic bought a car that I didn't like because I didn't want the hassle of changing cars mid way through an insurance policy so bought a new one that I never really liked the day before my existing policy ran out. £7k that ******* cost me and I I didn't like it the day I bought it

What could possibly be regarded as a constructive response to two over the hill players who contributed nothing whilst at our club? It's not as if either position needed strengthening and those two certainly didn't bring anything positive to the team.

Mido. The panic being that without a marquee signing to "put bums on seats" there would be hell to pay with an element of the support.

Yep, Ready Brek and Ping Pong were surely 2 of the paniciest signings ever.

About 2006 I was working at home in a hot summer and I was sweating like an extremely sweaty thing. It was nearly 40 degrees, I couldn't work, so I went and bought an air conditioner for about €500. It worked really well and I had a very pleasant afternoon.

It piled it down the next day. Never used the bloody thing since that day.

Circa 1977 I bought Alladin Sane by a certain Mr Bowie after I'd ruined my sister's boyfriend's LP (kids ask yer dad what an LP is) - well it did have 'Panic in Detroit' on it. Got found out that the later versions of this LP did not have a gatefold sleeve

'Pond Life' & 'Big Tits', classy.
I actually agreed with you that they were panic buys. But you go ahead with the personal abuse if it makes you feel big and clever. You're wasting your time with your keyboard warrior aggression, it takes a bit more than that to be intimidating.:)
