Tuesday night away from home in Cardiff following a flurry of games and two wins. Key players out injured. Over to everyone to decide how spectacular their embarrassing over reaction is going to be.
Cardiff have played as many games as us in the same length of time. They didn't even get a booking against us.
Going to lose games in this league i get that but tonight was embarrassing and we never competed or looked like making a game of it from first minute to last it was a physical miss match.
Cardiff have played as many games but they are at home, their style doesn't favour us, they perhaps don't have the same injuries and sometimes things just don't go your way. None of this means the club is doomed, the recruitment is a failure, Ismael is clueless etc. etc.
Well it wasn’t a big lump up front that did us tonight , it was our own wayward passing and calamities that helped Cardiff to their easiest win this season . At least Keiffer didn’t score .
We missed Brittain tonight. Hope he's back for Saturday. Not the sort of team we normally do well against TBH. Go again on Saturday.
Of course it doesn't - those are all good points. But I'd quite like us not to have the exact same weaknesses as we've been displaying for over a year. I also don't think that the club is doomed or Ismael is clueless.
Just said to my lad that when u hear that we’ve just broken all records for distance covered as a team you know that your gonna be fcucked against long ball merchants. not doesn’t matter that we’ve played the same number of games. If we cover twice as much mileage then it’s bound to have an effect. And we have strikers who seem not to want to cement a regular start ♂️
If we are going to have a bad match then this is it , move on Yet we cannot honestly say that some in that team are up to it Shmidt keeps getting in yet is lost basically Freezer is not competent enough . As said before we are very thin on quality but we have to get the injured players back
You're arguing with yourself It was a crap day at the office and 1 or 2 of the fringe players didn't take their opportunity to shine.
I dont think we learnt anything we didn't know today. The LB/RB positions in terms of squad cover were weak and we don't have a true Striker at this level to partner or replace Cauley. In fact out of our 6 strikers only he looks like a regular at this level. Ah well Valerian will know what he can work on and now what he has to work with.
We need a plan B then to adapt to these teams. We struggled last season against big physical sides. And on tonight’s showing you’d expect the same again this year. There’s a lot of teams in this division who play the same style as Cardiff, I am glad we aren’t one of them. But if we’re going to try and establish ourselves as a championship club again we need to adapt and overcome this type of opponent. We weren’t unlucky tonight, we fully deserved that result. Regarding the recruitment, well I can understand those that do criticise it, it does frustrate the hell out of me too. Where there is praise for the talents they have brought in this season, equally there’s massive holes in the system we operate. We are looking like at the moment our best substitute attacking threat is a centre back in Halme. That has to be criticised.
Weirdly we tried to beat them at their own tactics when we are useless at long ball and don't have players tall enough or strong enough to play that way. We are also missing Woodrow as we don't have any striker good enough to take his place. We could get shut of Schmidt, Chaplin, Thomas, Miller and Adeboyejo and I wouldn't miss any of them and the wages saved and the fees we'd get would hopefully find someone worthy of playing alongside a play of the calibre of Cauley.
Think that's why he brought likes of Victor on to have a look at what they are like - he'll have found a few things out tonight. Lot of games recently and we've lost two key players. Need the international break
