The Daily Mirror have stated that PH2 is the favourite for the managers job.I would not mind as he knows the club, the players and hopefully after the Wendy’s match knows what to change.A new manager would just be walking into the club blind and starting over again.

I can see the logic in it. We need a progressive manager who wants to play good football. Whether he fits that bill I've no idea.
If he does get it get ready for the "nowt's changed" brigade.

It’s hard to judge him as it’s only been 1 game where he’s been in charge of the first team but I’ve got to say, I think someone else coming in from outside the club, with fresh ideas, to try to give us a boost is needed.

My own feeling is we need a short term fix to get us out of the s**t until the season's end. I don't think PH2 has the experience for that. I'd take Steve McLaren for the short term fix. We could then address the longer term and the requirements of "the plan" in the summer.

I agree - having the next potential manager step up from within appears to me a good long term plan we just need to recruit correctly in the succession plan - I hated the days when we kept changing managers and to be fair it has worked so far and we ain't down yet plenty of excitement to unfold yet

Makes sense - club can save a fortune in training gear and tracksuits.

how many games has HIS u23's won lately or u18's or any team, seems like losing mentality throughout the club

is that taking the cheap option as we have recruited internally many times surely we should learn lessons from the past ....However there is no reason why our culture should follow us around as there is a new board now with fresh ideas and a bit of cash.....supposedly

I was only joking, but we actually played decent football under him and came within seconds of extra time at Wembley in the play-off final.

Agreed. PH1 struggled all season to win us games. Saturday was the big chance for PH2 to use fresh ideas and show his metal. Instead if you hadn't heard PH1 has left, you would have thought he was still there with that team (Gardner/Williams both starting for example).

Continuity/promotion from within has its merits but also, IMHO, one serious drawback - in that it will tend to give you more of the same. And in our current situation that points to ongoing failure (Einstein anyone?)

I believe now more than ever we need a fresh pair of eyes, fresh ideas and the motivation that only a new face can bring.

Having watched the U23 match the other day I think we really really need an outside with a clue

I assume you mean by them lessons that the only tiime when we have progressed is when we promoted within, last 3 promotions were a chieved under Hecky, Ritchie & Wilson , all 3 internal recruits
