Another early poll closure for the wing backs - a landslide for Oduor and Williams.

So now we're onto the midfield 3. This will probably take a little more thinking through. Do you want someone to sit in a defensive role? Do you want Woodrow included as a number 10? Or does Thomas get the nod? Will Styles take over from Mowatt? Or can they play together?

Remember you get 3 votes, and also remember that if someone is selected here then they can't play elsewhere.

    Go!

I kind of had him pegged either wide or up top. Probably should have included him Tbf, but some times you can't get the staff.

And remind me. Where do you get to vote for the diagonal lines showing bomb alley and the likes?

Don't forget the Starting XI needs a captain at the end!

I'm getting way too in to this ..........

Depending on what time the wife gets in and if there's owt good on TV we can start on set piece takers.

I think we see the mistake of letting Struber get rid of Kenny Dougal. We have needed a defensive midfielder, this season.

I'm not sure you need one with three proper CBs. I'd play Mowatt central but much more of a license to go forward. I guess it's up to the wing backs to drop in and cover at the appropriate times considering you've got a five man midfield.

The biggest missing link for me is a right footed central midfielder. Without one we look so unbalanced and picking Palmer or Christie-Rose shows the gap in quality we have (as we don't really know the potential of either just yet).

I voted Thomas as the third choice but I'm okay with Palmer too, he impressed but only had a short time. I think Thomas is better though

Can I vote for 4-4-2, no wing backs and no midfield 3? That was Struber's formation which excelled in forcing square pegs into round holes and resulted in us failing to score in 9 of our last 15 league games. He's gone, can his godawful formation go with him?

One thing I liked during the lockdown fixtures was Woolfe and Palmer, played forward, positive passes. A lot of modern midfield play seems to go backwards and sidewards, sure it keeps possession but I like a bit action. Hopefully the team will feel less shackled and there will be a focus for the attack.

I’ve just looked at the official site - and if you take out the young players that are not yet ready for the Championship then there is a meagre SEVENTEEN (17 !!!) players to choose from.

There is also media attention (NewsNow) on Mowatt leaving the club.
So if he goes - and I think he will - then although I’m not a fan of his - we are really going to struggle to field a side with adequate substitutes.

You sure can - incidentally that's what I voted for. But the majority of us favour the 3-5-2 still for some reason!

Apologies, hadn't realised you'd put that poll up.

I'm still not convinced losing Mowatt hurts us if replaced, he's no Conor. His set pieces are dire and his passing hasn't been amazing lately. His work rate is great, but Styles has that too. Id prefer us to get a right footed Cdm. If we get Whiteman once Mowatt goes I'd take that.
