We still require a traditional number 9 or a forward with real pace who can play on the shoulder of the last man. The more options the better. I really hope we can bring another alternative to our forward line as no real physicality or real pace up front as it stands.

Chaplin is quick. He's just never been asked to play on the shoulder of the last man. Neither has Schmidt to be fair.

Our strikers have spent six months doing everything but be in the box, and our midfielders have done everything but provide them with clear cut chances. I'm hopeful with the improvements to the midfield, the development of Styles, and what should be less defensive work for Mowatt, we can start creating again and get back to the days when we had two strikers in double figures with four months of the season still to play.

Agree. I think we can do well without a target man if we play the right way.

    Totally agree.

Chaplin isn't my cup of tea tbh but is definitely not quick and we have no effective physicality in our attacking options. Just hope we can round off the window by bringing in a striker that Cauley (and, yes, maybe Schmidt too) can play off.

Last season they had loads of chances and the conversion rate was one of the reasons we were down at the bottom of the league. Nothing in the last few games has given me the idea that has changed. We should have beaten Leeds and Luton but failed to convert good chances. I said real pace that can run away from defenders. There is always a need for a Plan B

Totally agree, Brown,Thomas,Mowatt and Odour all provided assists for them last season, then we changed our style of play and the goals dried up for them.

Get a gaffer who allows players to play the game in front of them. I love pressing football but the best team in country allow their forward players to create havoc around the box. Press from the front, its about the defence and midfield knowing what to do when the front 3 are on the front foot. Making sure any cleared ball is won and recyled quickly.
