I am considering changing my broadband & Plusnet appear to have a decent offer on , however , apart from seeing their adverts on tv, I do not know much about them & I wonder if any members of the BBS use them or have used them & can give me some kind of review , I appreciate any input , cheers
I have them pal and they are faultless. The only problem I have is that once my contract has ended in the past, the price increased and they didnt sign me up on a deal similar to a new customer offer. Hopefully this has changed but my current deal doesn’t run out till next summer.
Eyup CB, been with PlusNet for a while now and never had a problem with service or anything. Before signing up I rang them to discuss what I required (nothing special btw) but just to understand everything and customer service was excellent. Over 50 years now mate since you convinced me to be a Red and not follow schoolmates to Swillsboro. Heartfelt thankyou.
They're currently sitting on almost £250 of mine. Cancelled an account last week when it turned out we didn't have fibre on our street after all. I'd paid a year's line rental upfront. They say it can take "up to 20 working days" for the refund to be processed. Oh aye, right.....in an age where you can transfer money from one account to another in a split second. 20 days interest for Plusnet more like....
Plusnet are BT's budget brand. So the network and the equipment is effectively the same as BT. We've had them for a few years now after switching away from BT. No complaints so far.
They are owned by BT but have a superb customer service, don't know why BT arnt the same cause they are shocking. They are one of only 2 providers that do a true unlimited bandwidth the other being Sky. I used to be with Virgin National for ADSL but they started to limit my download speeds at peak times. I would use them but I have the full Sky Q package so kept it altogether
Okay, fair do's. Still don't know why a refund can't be done as quickly as you've paid for summat in the first place though....
Been with them for years... no problems at all, and if ever any issues always found them reliable and helpful PLUS they are locally based in Sheffield so find that helps a lot. You can have a bit of banter with them and generally never have to ask them to repeat what they've just said ! We pay about £40 a month for broadband, unlimited phone and line rental. May not be the cheapest, I don't know, but it's ok for us. Go for it.
It's the BT Wholesale network so you're going to going to get the same speeds as with any other ISP using that network (i.e. most except cable)
I'd recommend you post on community.plus.net so they can check the account for you and see what can be done to push it through.
Recently changed from BT Superfast Fibre 2 to an equivalent Plusnet service (with BT Sport) and pay roughly half what we were paying BT. Had a couple of local issues (speed drops/router issues) but the service has been second to none. Speed has improved (I get around 55Mbps down/17Mbps up) and a ping latency of around 21ms. Pretty good really....
@Red CB, unless he has changed jobs I’m sure that @Dyson is head of digital at Plusnet so he may be able to point you in the right direction.
In my experience, you will get someone a little bit more experience in the forums who *may* be able to push this through quicker for you.
In my experience, never had an issue, speeds as quoted, much cheaper than Virgin Media who I use to use, and don't get throttled at peak times (as per Virgin Media).
