11:45am set off and won’t get home until roughly 4am Take my hat off to anybody who makes that trip from Plymouth
Especially with them rock bottom. Still think they will take more than Gillingham did on a Saturday. If any tickets still remain? That's a funny line they have put there. Should just be straight general sale for them.
Why in the name of all that is holy are we playing the team with the longest distance to travel on a Tuesday night? Surely there should be something in the fixture computer to make these games on a weekend. I know that Plymouth have a trek to anywhere normal, but there are plenty of teams in the south that they could play on a Tuesday night instead of having to go to one of the furthest away.
It's to maximise away fan attendance at weekends by playing long-distance games in midweek, apparently.
Yeah that's what the FL said a couple of years ago, Plymouth wouldn't bring many more on a Saturday in theory so might as well shove it on a Tuesday and keep localish teams for a Tuesday.
I know they aren't our fans but it would be a nice touch if on the night, all their travelling fans got a token when coming through the turnstile for a free warm drink, like our board have done for our own fans a couple of times. We are all football fans at the end of the day and it would cost very little. Many having to have two days off work, forking out approx hundred quid (coach, ticket, food, drink etc), to set off eight hours in advance and get in your own bed around 5 am the next morning, with where they are in the league deserves huge respect.
