Dung beetles seem to do ok on it. Maybe we could breed an army of them to clean the streets after games?
Yeah, but I still then don't understand why the east stand lower (north side) block can't be fully sold out just because the north stand is sold out....well, sold out to what we are allowed to sell lol
There's not a cat in hell's chance would I stand with my kids in the middle of that crowd that stands in front of the railway crossing at the end of every game. Regular as clockwork - every other saturday hundreds of men - very low incidence of muslims - all stood in the middle of the road. All you need is an arctic and a mental illness and you've got a headline. I stand inside the car park now behind the concrete whilst the train goes by. Only time I am glad to see the police with a gun.
Can happen anywhere. more likely to happen in some places than others. I'm glad SYP and me are on the same wavelength on this one and by their presence hopefully the probability drops dramatically.
They've been there every Saturday match since the attack on Westminster bridge. Possibly since the attack on Nice. I guess you need to know what you're looking for.
It would just be good to know what it would take to be able to sell every single seat in our ground again and play all Yorkshire derbies at 3 o clock. We've had some cracking atmospheres when away sides used to be able to sell every north stand seat and half the west stand.
There is no mystery on what is required. It's just a lot of work and money to achieve it: A rearchitected away end so, as previously mentioned, the evacuation times are reduced. This has nothing to do with SYP. Disabled facilities in the West stand for away supporters. This has nothing to do with SYP Female toilets in the north side of the west stand since there aren't any right now. This has nothing to do with SYP
Sounds like the Stadium is suffering following over a decade of neglect really. I guess without demand for selling those seats it would be "crazy" to do anything and we won't do anything crazy! Hopefully if we go up we may start to see improvements.
If we aren't up to modern safety standards but we were previously that would suggest we haven't kept up. Other stadiums must have. How can that upper tier at Hillsborough be evacuated at any decent pace? They must meet the requirements that we can't. The West Stand speaks for itself on that front. Not having a go about it i get it why spend any money when we only get 12k.
Yes that's what I ment, and we haven't kept up with them we just left it as it was. When the regulations changed a choice must have been made not to meet them.
That's not neglect though is it? It's a choice of where to spend resources vs the reward of doing so.
Well we haven't "cared" for our stadium for a long time, some superficial efforts have been made this season. But ok "the stadium is run down and suffering from choosing not to spend resources on it for over a decade as the potential rewards were perceived as not to justify the expenditure of such funds" or Sumat.
Be interesting to know what actual capacity is now at oakwell my guess would be 18 thousand maximum and depending on results next three games b4 play Sunderland should be looking at full house if as mentioned syp don't close off last block off east lower
This is the thing, it's terrible getting out of a full leppings lane upper tier, yet that is always sold out when we go!
