Can't complain with recent results, and I'm not going to pretend we really are some superhuman outfit who never have an off-day, but I think VI will be disappointed with that one. We weren't just beaten, we looked out-thought and very wobbly throughout. When we had it on the ground we looked far better. I know that's not our style, but we have to admit when plan A isn't working in a game. Credit to Wednesday, they had us completely sussed and pulled off their gameplan perfectly. Of course I'm still chuffed with the season and our recent run, and absolutely love this group of players, but that didn't feel good enough today. Might sound harsh, just the way I see it.
Too much mindlessly lumping it forward. It was hard to watch. I’d have liked to see us try and out-football them - it shouldn’t have been hard.
We didn’t press in their half. That’s our game and we didn’t have runners up front when the ball went forward. Dike was fantastic and Morris when he came on. Styles wasn’t at his best but he’s brilliant usually so you accept that. A game too far for Palmer, where was Kane? They have some quality players and you wonder why they’re where they are. Rhodes and Bannan are class and Windass is a handful. I’m glad that Darren Moore is doing well, I just wish it wasn’t with the pigs. A break now and then go again for the run in. Not buying the Wembley ticket yet, but still hopeful.
Credit to Wednesday.Didnt try time wasting & were trying for the third goal well deserved win.(still hope they go down by the way)
